Ultimatum Begins!

He bit his head off then spit it out. Pretty gross and unnecessary. I wasn't to opposed when Blob ate someone as he has threatened before. But the Hank Pym was a bit much

So much untapped character potential wasted by Loeb's need to create death and destruction. It's no longer shocking, just annoying. I also love how the death really strikes the characters emotions....not.

I'm just hoping that this whole travesty will end with some kind of magic reset button, because I find it hard to believe that Marvel looked at this **** and thought it was a good idea.
Amen man. I think the "reset button" will come in the form of that project that Hank told Hawkeye to bring up. He sounded pretty confidant that it would bring Janet back.

after re-reading origins, i think rick jones is going to be the reset button

You know what I wanna know? How does this damn thing get delayed like this?? This is ridiculous, #4 is now solicited for May 4th and god knows when #5 is gonna come. How is it that all of Loeb's work gets pushed back ALL the time (HULK, Ultimates 3, Wolverine, Captain America white..)? It cant be Finch, he's shown in the past that he can keep a monthly schedule no problem, and i'm pretty sure with the quality of loeb's scripts it prolly took him an hour MAX to write all of Ultimatum...so what gives??

#5 won't be out until July.

It's ****ing ridiculous. Nine months for five ****** issues. And even worse is that the longer we're stuck with Loeb's ********, the longer it takes for Millar to come back and right these wrongs. :woot:

but hopefully THAT also means hitch will have enough in the bag that at least the first half of the book will ship on time:woot:

Unfortunately Hitch isn't drawing UA. There's a new artist for every 6 issues.

But, as far as I know, most of the first 12 issues are done/being done, and Millar even suggested that the book could ship bi-weekly.

aww, at least the shipping is good news

I wouldnt hold my breath, Millar's not too good scheduling either, but the difference is his work is actually WORTH the wait.

I wonder if the delays push back the requiem issues and Ultimate Comics which is supposed to start in July as well.

USM which has never had a delay in its 130+ run (there was even that stretch where two were published a month) has its last two issues delayed by a month each because of this. The first Requiem issue was pushed back a couple of weeks but the second one looks like it will arrive in July as there was nothing announced for June. So Ultimate Comics will probably launch late July early August at best.

I'm really loving this book and it's "anything goes" style which, as I've said before, is what has been missing from the Ultimate universe for a very long time.

The only thing worse than eating a **** sandwich is having to wait a long time for your **** sandwich.

**** Marvel ..Grow up.

One thing about Ultimates though is it isn't suppose to be about "anything goes" It is a pretty confined universe with a re-imagining of far fetched and outlandish attributes of the original universe. The reason why a lot of people like it is because it didn't go crazy with everything.

Anything Goes:

Everything
Goes: :down

Ultimate Hulk eats people. Blob eats people. Hank Pym bites off Blob's head for eating his wife.

I'm just waiting for Ultima Cap to chew off a piece of Magneto's ear. :woot:

Haha. I did not even know the Hulk ate someone. Don't these guys buy food?

Magneto eats people too. He claims its not canabalism because normal humans are a separate species and lower on the foodchain so they're pretty much cattle

ugh....anything goes is fine. Anything goes though doesn't mean destroy everything everyone else has built up.

He did it with Hulk too. Planet Hulk, WWH -- now if anyone wants some Hulk-esque stories that start where the title left off pre-Loeb they have to got to Skaar Son of Hulk.

Luckily, that book is AWESOME and soon Skaar will be on Earth where he will meet Skaar.

But Loeb didn't address ANYTHING that's happened in WWH or Planet Hulk. In fact, he hasn't even addressed half the crap that HE set up.

And hearing about what he's doing in Ultimatum makes me feel sorry for the people who have actually bought this. I'm surprised more people didn't drop Ultimates 3 after the second or third issue (like I did).

Ultimates 3 was like a big early April fools joke played by Loeb and Marvel.

Unfortunately it's a continuing joke at the readers expense.
