So, does ANYBODY actually like Ultimatum? ... at all?

Do you actually like Ultimatum?

  • I would rather vomit in a cup and drink it then re-read this mini-series.

  • It's been pretty bad, but I've read worse.

  • I don't care about it either way

  • I actually like it, probably due to missing 65% of my brain mass

Considering that Magneto was responsible for the deaths of Xavier, Wolverine, Beast, Angel, possibly Havok, and Nightcrawler, along with the Academy of Tommorrow, the X-Men should be pretty cool with his death. I mean he pretty much killed their family, members of their own species, and turned public sentiment against mutants so badly that they will pay dearly for it.

Nick Fury will be cool with it because he's ****ing Nick Fury.

Well 616 Magneto is a tragic and sympathetic villain, so it would make sense that some people, maybe even some of the X-Men would feel a little sad when he dies.

Ultimate Magneto is a one dimensional monster who does evil things, often for no good reason. He has no redeeming values and is almost as unlikable as Red Skull. Seriously not even the Red Skull's own kid would be sad if he died, so I can't imagine anyone being sad now that Ultimate Mags is dead.

I liked it if for anything becasue it was an event book the actually DELIEVERED! I wish a 616 book would go as far as this one did cuz it would actually make an even worth picking up. There was so much stuff in this fans want to see and honestly, would never see i n a 616 book.

Yes it jumped around a lot and I fealt lost at times as if I was missing half the story for not getting the reguler titles but the art was great and I enjoyed each page nonetheless.

i'm going to be picking up the hardcover that's coming out in a few months. i can't wait.

I WILL admit one thing, this was the only event in recent years that actually felt like an event. All of Marvel's "events" (house of M, civil war, secret invasion, WWH, Messiah Complex) felt like they werent really events but merely a means to an end. Events should feel like movies, with a beginning middle and end, they should be complete experiences by themselves, and let's face it....Ultimatum delivered on that note. By the end of Ultimatum you felt like it was a complete story, unlike Secret Invasion for example.

Gotta agree here. It's like many of Marvel's recent events are just really a giant advertisement/lead-in for the NEXT big event. Secret Invasion wasn't even over and you were seeing the advertisements for "Dark Reign!".

Ultimatum isn't complete. Quicksilver's return and what he'll do next is still left wide open.

In fact, Loeb ended Ultimatum the same way he ended Ultimates 3. :funny:
