I'm willing to give it a shot. . .

but they've accomplished their task with me anyway. I have to buy some issues to catch up.

I've never wanted Spidey's I.D. to be revealed. When I heard the rumor of it happening during Civil War I was majorly against it (though I'm not a complainer, so I never said it here). I saw the end of Amazing Spiderman 532 and wondered if they'd go through with it... then as I read Civil War 2, I found myself enjoying the lead up and found myself really happy about the reveal (JJJ's reaction helped :)). Now I find myself extatic that it happened and I really want it to stick. The stories that can come from this are just huge, and I can't wait to read them. I don't think I've been so excited over spidey since I stopped reading him regularly after they retconned the clone saga. So yeah, I'm totally for this and am excited to see where this goes.

And I have a feeling judging by issue 2's ending, and the cover to Civil War 5, the villains are going to do just as everyone feared and they're going to go after Parker. My guess is that this will end with either MJ's death, or their separation for her own safety.

And by the way, I'm not a normal She-Hulker, but I am totally getting the reaction to JJJ!

Pretty much the same for me, although Straz won me over with ASM #532...

I think Civil war has been dynamite so far....the regular series, and all the books leading up to it (Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, Illuminatti, etc.,)

Marvel seems to be on the ball this time.
Let's hope they dont fall off when all is said and done.

Just to show my support...

I think that ASM #532 was written so well, that it definitely prepared you for the possibility of Peter unmasking. When he did, I was definitely shocked, but not upset. I think this leads the way for tons of story possibilities and I'm looking forward to see what comes out of it. Daredevil got outted as well, and his books have been amazing since.

For those non suporters of spider man taking his mask off, its already done so... :o

Glad to hear that Dan Slott is handling Jameson's reaction...

Speaking of which; What are you guys expecting?

Will JJ be pissed off? Depressed? Forgiving?

Should Peter call him? Go see JJ in person and explain his reasons? Not see him at all?

Let's hear some thoughts.

I think they should honestly have Jameson try to kick his ass. He'll fail, but it would be funny to see.

some people feel invested in the characters and dislike most any change

What if someone decided to take legal action against Peter for something hes done in the past?
could be interesting.

She-Hulk's his lawyer :D

but yeah, seriously, moreso than anyone else Peter Parker could now be sued for a whole bunch of things

my only guess is that some sort of amnesty comes with registering

"Spider-Man No More" for Real.

Pete wants MJ, Aunt May DEAD.
He wants to be sued by J.J.
He wants to never be able to get a Job.
Nobody would want to sit next to him on a bus or train
in fear of his enemies.
There is absolutely no reason for a costume ever...
Thus no reason to buy the book.
Marvel F**ked themselves...
Lame.:down

I've been waiting awhile for a good story so I hope you're right.

Im interested in how the Daily Bugle will look in the public's eye...

Will they be laughing at Jameson, or acuse him of being in cahoots with Peter/Spider-Man the whole time in order to sell papers?

If written well, this could be the best and most interesting thing that has happened to Spidey in a long time. It would be nice to finally read some Spidey tales without knowing exactly how they will turn out (I mean, Spidey dying in "The Other"? How could he NOT come back to life). I'm sure it will be retconned or whatever at the end of Civil War, or maybe I'm just in denial.

Oh well, till the end of Civil War I'll enjoy the ride.

I agree 100%. Straz put together a fabulous issue in #532 that left me wondering about the possibilities if Spider-Man unmasked. To tell you the truth, I thought during the press conference something would happen to prevent Spidey from revealing his identity despite the fact he had come to the conclusion to do so. So I must give Marvel props for going through with it, and Civil War has been nothing short of AMAZING so far.

I certainly hope that this is leading to MJ's death in the near future, but I'm excited to see some change that doesn't involve messing enormously with 40-plus years of continuity (ie, Sins Past, Aunt May's "death," et al.).

Also I might add I'm somewhat beginning to like Spidey's new costume.

kinda an off-topic question but id rather ask it here then start a new thread on it. so at the end of this will there be some sort of compilation book or something coming out?

I think this had to happen because CW would have no real affect if they didn't go there.

I like it...we all know they're somehow going to get it back to being secret in time like they do with ALL of these unmaskings (Iron Man, Daredevil seems to be going back to beign secret)...but even fi it were permanent, I'd still like it...nice twist on the character
