I imagine gunfire is the first thing they take out of the film.

These 2 seem like absolute joke castings. It feels like they are pulling the rug out from the film’s chances of success as I can see many fans not being too happy.Holland looks like young Drake, but... I don't want young Drake. I just re-beat 1-3 and a just started 4 for the first time. I love this franchise and Marky Mark as Sully is just idiotic.

Wouldn't it be nice to see 60 years old Lara Croft movie?

I think Holland is totally wrong for the role, Drake is supposed to be a "big" stereotypical jock kind of guy... but maybe it will just be loosely based on the game and somehow turn out to be a fun movie.
With Holland we'll never get a Drake who looks like the character, (cause Tom will still have a babyface 10 years from now) but most videogame movies suck anyway
Decisions like this are why most videogame movies suck.
This is Monica from 2003.Would be down for a Monica Bellucci-Lara Croft the Senior Years, yes

You're right, but I'm just saying even when they seem to be casting the right people they still mess it up. Look at Assassin's Creed...
But yeah, I don't get this decision at all if you want to base it on the game. Tom Holland is nothing like Nathan Drake. For some reason Sony really wants him in this movie
The problem is that many of these filmmakers don't respect the source material. Even if you think they shouldn't make VG adaptations, it's even worse that they allow directors who clearly don't respect what they're adapting.Exactly this, why unnecessarily change things from the game? I understand something like Sonic needing to have humans in other than robotnik, but Uncharted is basically a movie already, just adapt the game as is.
Yes exactly. Honestly this shouldn’t really have been that hard. A much simpler game to translate to a movie than normal as the job is pretty much done within the game and its cutscenes, and without too many complex elements like cgi characters.Exactly this, why unnecessarily change things from the game? Next up they cast him as Kratos.Because Tom Holland is "hot" right now. Sony thinks they can attach that to a big property as a lead. It's a simple cynical studio decision.

That actually interests me in a morbid wayNext up they cast him as Kratos.![]()

I don't get why changing things up is always the first thought on movie exec's minds when trying top create a movie of a game series that has been successful for a long time. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within is probably the worst offender. It feels like no one involved even played the games for that one.Yes. The movie based on a series where the appeal is all about playing through various historical settings and having it take place mostly in the present. The recent games have mostly abandoned the present day stuff because nobody cares about it. People just want to bash heads in Ancient Greece.

Some director, a good blockbuster director, has to come jn and do it.
Not a movie, but I think the Last of Us show could be it. But then again Uncharted is such a layup and they are messing this up. So who knows
