Wasn't Duncan Jones considered as a good choice when he was signed to direct Warcraft ?
Warcraft wasnt that bad. But still when you look up in hindsight. In his whole directing career (20 years of experience) he literally directed 5 movies including one of them being a short. And from all those only Source Code prior to Warcraft was up to being good movie. Since Warcraft he didnt direct anything worthwhile mentioning and only made one project.

He is not Kurzel bad but he is a lot closer to him than some respectable and established good director. Hollywood literally needs to stop doing this. It's a pattern and it's annoying. It's throwing money in garbage can and flame it on fire. Because they literally hoping they will catch up lighting in bottle eventually instead thinking it through making it right way.

Either that or hope in next 20 to 30 years new breed gen gaming era of directors, writers and actors come.

I think the problem is that he picked Warcraft which wasn't a good choice for a movie adaptation. I mean it's an MMO strategy game.

Warcraft has a lot of lore spread through 3 RTS games,, the MMO, and a lot of books so its ripe for a movie or TV show adaption. The movie's problem was the half baked script.

What I've seen for the lore is just a grand sweeping never-ending conflict between the Horde and Alliance that never truly goes anywhere. The lore was really just to get players to pick a faction to enable them to play and conquer Azaroth.

Leitch was supposed to direct The Division with Gyllenhaal and Chastain. I thought that had a chance to be decent but who knows if it'll even get made at this point. And with it going to netflix? My hopes aren't high

Most lore, known as fluff, is that way. Its still a lot of material to use and build on.

Disclaimer: I don’t have inside info, neither do I have a horse in this race. I just stumbled upon this legit bit of info online.

Apparently they had 2 test screenings for this. One scored 89 and the other 83.

That's a solid B+ and B-. :awesome:

I can imagine critics and many of the GA liking this as many probably never played the games.

Chris Evans would have made a good Drake.

Yeah Evans is probably the only modern movie star I can really see as Nathan Drake.
Evans would knock it out of the park. Even though I don't have anything against Tom Holland as a younger Drake, an Uncharted movie with Evans as Nathan and JK Simmons as Sully would have been a sight to behold.

With a good director to reign him in at the appropriate times, Ryan Reynolds could make a good Drake too. His character in Red Notice is pretty much a riff on Nathan Drake.

Good to hear that people are liking it.

I ain’t gonna lie the trailer looked good on the big screen. Also kinda funny that after I got the UC trailer the NWH trailer played. Sony got to sale that Tom Holland/Sony synergy lol.

Not playing the devil's advocate but Holland does look like young Drake in Uncharted 3.
