Love the Bardem and Crowe casting, but Depp and Dwayne sound horrible to me.

I actually like that movie.:oldrazz:

I really like that movie too, the most source accurate portrayal on film
but Deniro was definitely the weakest part of it
and I can't see many people having thought it was a great idea to begin with

Is Dwayne the Wolf Man or some other role? I can see him as a hunter. But he would be a terrible Wolf Man.

I can see them being able to do a team up if they're all good sports about it, love the monsters, and want an excellent modern day all monsters film. Hell I can see them being excited just to work together. Depp especially here because I think he's the kind of kid who grew up watching and loving Fright Night and etc. so for him the role must be a dream come true. For the rest, unsure what their outlook is but I can see them taking a pay cut if need be if fans of the material and characters. Actors often do take pay cuts for projects they believe in.

Great cast for franchise that's gonna be average and forgettable... But I really wish I'm wrong since I love these horror creatures.

With all these names signing up unless they're die hard fans leaping at being involved due to character alone, I'd say it's safe to say they have had to have seen some material that they can really get behind. You don't get these names constantly jumping onto something that isn't good. A name or two. Yeah. An Ocean's Eleven type of deal - that's a stretch, there had to have been a quality lure.

TBF I don't know that Bardem would necessarily be as expensive as Cruise, or Jolie, or Crowe, or Depp would be. I mean don't get me wrong, I love Bardem and he's a great actor. But he still doesn't have the widespread name recognition that those other ones do.

i also liked that movie. I dont know why movie fans on the internet bash it.

Certainly can't be more expensive than Infinity Gauntlet prt 1 or 2. Now that's a cast behemoth.

I just don't care for The Rock as wolf man. He just doesn't fit the type assuming they're going with the Talbot's. Unless they're doing something totally different. Rock's body type just wasn't as big of a thing back then unless he's playing a circus strong man or something.

I could actually see Dwayne as Wolfman working. He has the physique for the role, without question.

For the Wolf Man sure, but as a regular guy with the curse of the wolf, I just don't like it. He just seems like the obvious guy to be a main character in that time period because he sticks out like a sore thumb. "Well... that guy won't have anything special happen to him or anything..."

Or I'm totally wrong here and they're doing a modern version of this story like The Mummy. If then I could see it more, but the idea of someone slight with the curse is just more appealing. Think if Chiwetel Ejiofor playing the part instead.

Thing is Wolf Man is typically an average man. He's the Bruce Banner to the monster. With rock, you erase that duality immediately.

Maybe when he changes to the wolf he gets smaller and weaker. :oldrazz:

They should be doing that (making smaller) in some way with Crowe. Maybe hunching him over... (Hyde is smaller than Jekyll)

Bardem as the Wolfman could've been interesting.

Great points indeed. I guess we shall see what happens...

I think he's a hunter. He looks a lot like Gaston which was based on how hunters looked in classic paintings. He just has that classical monster hunting physique from olden day paintings.

I liked Kenneth Branagh's Frankenstein, and I liked The Wolfman remake with Benecio del Toro and Emily Blunt.

Bardem as the creature in this new universe sounds great - not sure about Dwayne Johnson as The Wolfman, he's great at what he does but Talbot really needs someone who can sell the pathos of the character. I love the suggestion of Chiwetel Ejiofor, but not sure if he'd want to get into another big franchise film so soon after Dr Strange.

I honestly think it's because not many people read Mary Shelley's original, so they just saw it and said "derrr why isn't he green with bolts in his neck?" :o:oldrazz:

Sorry if this is a silly question but so we know what movie comes out after The Mummy? Is it Invisible man?

Thanks.
