Upcoming Movies You Just Aren't Looking Forward to...

This is strange. I'm not so that I'm not looking forward to seeing newer movies, it's that I'm so underwhelmed by all the sequels and remakes. Films with so much action and darkness and no heart or story and character development! I'm starving for a well made movie, something with substance, that adds that adds value to my life.

The last newest movies I've liked are Thor, Captain America and How to Train your Dragon, but not much of any other movie has interested me. What the heck is going on? Have I become so over desensitized with all the loud fast mindless ego centric type films in the past few years that they've driven me to look through the older films for some substance?

The third Transformers film was so loud and filled with so much action I was so bored with it! Maybe I'm maturing?

Off the top of my head I'm not really excited for The Amazing Spiderman, The Adventures of Tin Tin, The three Stooges and Men in Black III.

Dr. Strange, i'm just more interested in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man as it shows more potencial storywise because of the people behind it.

I'm tired of Johny Depp so aside from Pirates 5 to redeem Pirates 4 i'm not looking forward to any of his movies

Nobody know the origins of the comic strip or whatever that this would only interest Spielberg fans and that's only because his name is attached, kids will probably think it's another Polar Express and stay far away.

I'm pretty stoked for Tin Tin...mainly because it has an old style adventure feel to it.

Mace, it depends, here on Portugal the Tintin are popular and very famous, in most of Europe comics like Tintin, Lucky Luke and Asterix are read more than superhero comics

The only films I'm excited for are Hobbit, Hunger Games, Dark Knight Rises and Avengers. But I'm sad to say I'm barely excited for Dark Knight Rises and Avengers (At least not as excited as I was for Dark Knight or Iron Man 2/Thor/Captain America) And Spiderman was my favorite superhero when I was a child but the more I learn about the new one the less I want to see it.

I doubt kids will want to stay away from it because of that. And it's not like the characters are meant to really look like normal people.

You do not know how many families I know who watch The Polar Express every freaking year.

It's simple. You've been looking in the wrong place for movies.

It's surprising to see a lot of people aren't really looking forward to The Girl in The Dragon Tattoo. Fincher hasn't made a bad flick yet, other than Benjamin Button.

First off I look forward to every superhero movie next year, even Ghost Rider 2. I'm hoping ASM will pleasantly surprise people like Rise of the PLanet of the Apes did. Lowered expectations can only help it.

Movies I wouldn't care if they canceled tomorrow:

Phantom Menace 3-D (nice try, but no)
John Carter
Battleship
Twilight BD pt 2

Outside of those it hard to say with so few trailers out now.

I, myself, have never been a fan of Fincher's films. The only movie I've appreciated from his filmography was Se7en.

Fight Club, The Zodiac, Benjamin Button, The Social Network, and Panic Room bored me half to death.

As a Spider-Man fan, I have no admit that I've expressed very little interest in The Amazing-Spiderman. I don't know why. The director is great, the cast is great, I'm thrilled to bits that they're finally using the mechanical webshooters, and I love that they're finally using The Lizard as the villain (who I've been begging for for years).

But as far as genuine enthusiasm for the film, I've had next to none. Maybe it's because I can't reconcile with that God-awful costume. Or maybe it's because I have little interest in seeing the origin story again so soon. For whatever reason, I barely frequent a board that I used to spend quite a bit of time on during the Spider-Man 2 days.

I totally agree. I am a Spidey fan and I still going to see Amazing Spider Man day one (most likely at the midnight screening) but I am just not thrilled about them doing the origin story again. I mean EVERYONE knows Spider-Man's origin even if you don't read comics or watched the cartoons at all. Other than that I am thrilled with the Lizard being the villian, and the cast and director seems to be great.

Other movies I am not looking forward too

Expendables 2

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Hobbit

Adventures of Tin Tin

War Horse

Ghost Rider 2 ( I will give it a shot but I am sure I will be disapointed)

I want to see the Amazing Spidey, I like Andrew Garfield. But I am not terrible excited about it.

The re-do of origin completely puts me off. I'm not that interested in another Spidey film where the first hour or so is almost the same as what we've seen before. Just replace Goblin with Lizard and MJ with Gwen.

Can you imagine immediately after Nolan finishes TDKR, WB reboots it with another origin story about Batman's beginnings as he trains around the world?

-War Horse. Spielberg's one of my favorite directors, but this movie looks melodramatic and kind of corny (and not in a good way).
-Amazing Spider-Man. I'm bored with superhero origin stories, so I'm none too excited to watch one that was already made a mere 10 years ago. The trailer looked unappealing, but trailers can be deceiving. I'll see it if the reviews and/or fan reception are good.
-If there's really a fifth Pirates of the Caribbean in the works, I don't care. That franchise didn't warrant more than one movie.
-I'm kind of split on John Carter and The Hunger Games. John Carter doesn't really look good, but I like the idea of using old pulp characters as movie inspirations. The Hunger Games sounds like a good concept, but I don't know much about the books they're based on and young adult adaptations have yielded mixed results for me in the past.

Movies I could care less about:

Underworld 4
Resident Evil (is it 5 or 6? I lost track of the series)

Both are yawn-inducing. I never even saw Underworld 3 because I just... well... didn't give a crap about seeing it. I've seen all the Resident Evils just by catching them on HBO, but not in theaters.

Movie I should be excited about but I'm not:

The Amazing Spiderman - Raimi's first entry into his trilogy, Spiderman, was fine. Maybe I'm not enough of a Spiderman fanboy, but I don't see much room for an improvement. Batman Begins was different because Batman's origin was NEVER TOLD ON FILM. We never saw Batman train, travel the world, or as a young man prior to being Batman. The Amazing Spiderman is a reboot that is coming too soon, and without much reason. I feel like the Amazing Spiderman is going to be different in ONLY three ways 1) more glum, full of teen-issues, and in-line with the Twilight series 2) Lizard replaces Goblin 2) Gwen replaces Mary-Jane... otherwise, it's the same movie.

Most Anticipated Movies:

TDKR and Avengers

Total Recall remake
The Hunger Games
Red Tails
John Carter
Men In Black III
Taken 2

No interest in anything Twilight, Hugo, Ghost Rider, Tintin, everything...

It would be easier to list the movies I am excited about...I'm awaiting the Avengers, but I'm not going crazy over it. TDKR has me worried that it will fail, so I'm cautiously excited. ASM is on the same level with Avengers...I'll see them, but I'm not counting down the days. MoS I keep forgetting about. I am looking forward to Underworld: Awakening. Funny. Every other upcoming film is major filler to me.

everything between here and summer that isn't underworld 4 or tintin

I feel the same way too and I grew up on 80's action icons like Stallone and Schwarzenegger but then I see something like The Expendables and I was totally disappointed by it.

Transformers DOTM I've probably only seen once since I got the Bluray because hating to admit it but my only complaint is that it's too long.

Phantom Menace 3-D (nice try, but no)
Totally forgot about this one, yeah I'll probably see it when the long lines dwindle down, :woot: who am I kidding, I will be totally shocked if people actually start forming lines for the awful prequels.

^I would absolutely love to see Episode III and the original trilogy in theaters in 3D. Not really that excited about the first two though.

But look at Disney- their 3D conversions have been doing really well.
