Drama USA_White Collar Series Thread

Pretty good pilot. Show is off to a tremendous start.

Yep, I think I'm gonna like this show. I watched because the premise sounds like Catch Me If You Can: The Series, and I liked Matthew Bomer on Chuck (plus, he's very easy on the eyes), but I'm staying because it seems like it's pretty well-made fun. I do hope they continue a season-long arc (I'm guessing "the search for Kate") with a case of the week thrown in. If it becomes just a regular procedural, I'll be a little disappointed.

Big premiere numbers. 5.4 million viewers. Higher than Burn Notice, matched In Plain Sight but below Royal Pains' debuts.

That's not even counting people like me, who watched it in reruns, since the DVR was already booked up during WC's primary time-slot.

I really enjoyed it. Bomer just has that natural charisma that makes you cheer for him.

I loved the scene when Peter realized Neal was living in that fancy mansion. :hehe:

Wow! I actually wasn't expecting that much because it's on a Friday night.

I actually find myself cheering for Peter more than Neal. That whole scene where Peter's trying to explain that things like Neal scamming his way into the mansion's guest room shouldn't happen was great. :D

I saw the pilot and I liked it; there's potential for tremendous upside with this so we'll see.

Good to see Bizarro Jerry finally getting his own show. :word:

"Vargas!"

Yeah, I didn't watch it Friday night. I DVR'd it so there is probably more viewers from it.

The subplot for Kate is interesting. I just hope it lasts one season. Maybe the season finale can deal with the wrap up.

Now that Peter is going on vacation, I'd be interesting to see an episode with Neal being looked after Peter's assistants while Peter is constantly being called.

i'm pretty sure the next episode takes place after the vacation. Peter was in the previews for it

FANTASTIC!
Loving this show...I think we have yet another USA hit on our hands. This ranks right up there with Burn Notice for me...just as engaging, fun and interesting. Very witty writing.

I DVR'd it...but ended up watching it on Hulu because my stupid dish kept flaking on me. (I so need cable)

Now I remember why I never got into the Middleman, Natalie Morales never really did anything for me.

Otherwise, it was a good episode. I like the fact that Neal doesn't trust any of his partners, including Kate.

Really? She didn't do much in this show, but I thought she was great in Middleman. That whole series was fun as hell.

Bearing in mind I only saw the pilot for Middleman and bits and pieces later on.

Morales has a certain amount of charisma, but not enough to make me invest in either of the roles(WC,MM) and get past the awkward, gangly nature of her acting. On MM, I gathered she was out of her element so it played in nicely, but here, she looked weird standing in that dress. Compared to that black agent from the pilot. She immediately seemed on both Neal and Peter's level despite being a subordinate.

So did they cut Peter's probie agent from the pilot and replace her with Morales?

Me too! Neal is charming and cool but DeKay just has an every man thing about him that makes him incredibly endearing. I love DeKay in this role. He plays it so perfectly straight. The whole "menacing," exchange was hillarious. The scene with Elizabeth giving him the watch was also great. I love how he seemed to feel so awkward about her giving him the gift and was almost relieved when the phone rang which gave him an excuse to get out of it. DeKay plays the role in a wonderfully understated realistic manner which is a perfect foil to Bomer's over the top, eccentric, charming, fantasy role. DeKay is really nailing this role and I think that is a big reason of why I am loving the show so much.

I like that the Pete character is still competent without Neal.

And I guess it was a scheduling conflict for the actress since they didn't even mention her character like they did with Psych. Maybe she'll be able to come back?

I couldn't watch this yesterday. :( Is there any other way I can see it?

As do I. They established in his very first scene (The F.B.I. safe cracking) that Peter is very smart and very capable. Its a nice contrast to a show like Monk where everyone but him is incompetent.

Its possible, though it seems that she has been replaced by Morales (who was in the preview for next weeks). My guess is either test audiences didn't respond to her or the studio didn't so they axed her. Not the end of the world, I suppose, though I liked the character. It seems like they did the same thing with Neal's benefactor. He no longer appears to be in the mansion. His apartment looks like just an apartment. That's unfortunate, I loved the way Neal conned his way into living in that woman's mansion.

Also, shot in the dark...bit of a crazy theory, but I'm thinking that James Rebhorn's character (Peter's boss) may be the man with the ring.

Say whaaaa? That's a heck of a theory. I do think it will end up being someone related to the FBI so it will force Neal and Peter to work from the inside.

I'm wondering what the clue is considering he was looking at it in pilot.

Loved this episode. Neal and Peter's dynamic is only getting better. More great humor with great character moments.

"Don't dance in the office."

I liked the original assistant of Burke. She fit nicely. But oh well.
