Superman Returns User Reviews... LOL the haters!

First of all, let me say, i do believe that this is going to be a good movie, i like Singer very much.

Several people talked about how Lex Luthor's character simply didn't work in the film, especially his "big plan" (lame, apparently)
That, i believe.
Not the Luthor didn´t worked in the film, but the lame big plan (which i´m saying from day one, to created an new continent is just stupid).

Ultimately it's too much of a chick flick with not enough action and a weak villain
That is not saying much, if anything.
So, they wanted 153 minutes of action, with little story to it, just a buch of action scenes glued together?
It´s like all the criticisms made to Hulk with the all, not enough action and Hulk out

All in all, i still think, even by being a great movie, is not going to be a great Superman movie, the movie that the Last Son of Krypton needs and will reintroduce him to an all new generation.

lmfao i don care what joblo thinks...the guys sources are probably a bunch of pissed off at singer fans who emailed saying there reporters and didnt like the film...remember when x3 came out and aint it cool news wud post any review if it was negative? some ppl jus like to stir things up for no reason.

Interesting thread title...is Cine a Mod now ?

You make it sound that Superman's origins should be redone so that a new generation can be attracted to it. I would argue that its more important that the CHARACTER is reintroduced to the world (i.e. not how he came to be, but who he is).

As for all this argument about Lex's stupid plan to make new land......... yes, it's absolutely crazy, insane and ridiculous (everything Lex has been for over 50 years, a human being with great illusions of grandeur. After post-crisis, Lex has created duplicated Supermen, destroyed half of Metropolis, cloned himself, made a deal with a demon for his soul, become President of the United States, built and lost his business several times, avoided jail many times...... yeah you're right, he's been in far more realistic situations since STM  )

Why bother having such a plotline in a Superman film? It's ALL ABOUT SUPERMAN.

What is Batman's motivation? To save his world, Gotham City. What is Spider-man's? To be responsible for his abilities and family in New York. What about the X-men's? To protect humans from mutantkind, even though they are despised by both?

What is Superman's motivation? To protect his home, EARTH, even from itself.Having the world in danger by Lex tells you more about Superman's motivations than having a battle with other kryptonians, alien warlords or even superior artificial intelligence. It's an alien renouncing his heritage embracing humanity against a man renouncing his humanity and embracing an advanced alien technology.

So are all the people who have criticisms going to be talked down to on here?

meh its from JoBlo. they're a notch below AICN in reliability.

Wow! I love that fact that not only is every review positive, but every review talks about how amazing and brilliant the movie is!

And to anyone who ever criticized Routh, or had doubts about him:

Brandon Routh is Superman. Period. He seemed to embody the very fiber of Superman's being. He turned in a phenomenal performance and gave a fresh face to a well-known character.

Brandon Routh is my Superman. I really think he was fantastic in this film, and he was particularly strong in his Superman scenes with Kate Bosworth's Lois Lane. There's something very interesting going on in Brandon's performance. He's not simply cloning what Reeve gave us two decades ago, but he is exuding the same sort of aura that Reeve did back then. The best way that I can describe it is to say that these two are cut from the same cloth.

Brandon Routh turns in a performance that at many times plays as an homage to Christopher Reeve's legendary portrayal of Superman while managing to prove scene-after-scene that he now owns the role.

Brandon Routh?

There is no longer any doubt.

Brandon Routh IS Superman.

Routh and Bosworth have fantastic chemistry. Honestly, not a single performance was anything less than fantastic.

Brandon Routh is perfect in the role, playing Clark Kent as a clumsy, bumbling reporter and Superman as a strong and powerful hero.

Like Apollo come to earth, like Atlas holding the world in the great Rockefeller Center sculpture, Brandon Routh’s Superman has a gravity that enobles this entire two-and-a-half hour picture.

If you have any misgivings about the castings, as I've already mentioned, Brandon and Kevin are unbelievably good so count on many chills going up and down your spine. Watching them is like watching the comic come to life.

Lets hear you criticize Routh now!

I can't wait to see this movie!

So how do you expect the opinions of others to shut them up, if it hasn't had any effect during the entire production when other posters have been claiming the same thing?
