Just share some moments from video games that you found completely awesome. I'd love to hear some stories.

The moment I heard any of the songs from Mega Man 2.

^Your avatar is freaking me out.

Anyway, the first game that really "wowed" me was probably Sonic the Hedgehog. The sense of speed was incredible, plus the graphics and music were awesome.

When I played 3D games for the first time, when I played Sonic the Hedgehog, when I played Chameleon Twist (it was addictive). Just to name a few.

The Mass Effect series springs to mind, that's given me some really exciting moments throughout the last two games.

For sheer shock value Saints Row 1-3 have pretty wild.

Oblivion made me take a step back (figuratively speaking) when I stepped out of the first dungeon into the world. I recall standing there for a good solid minute being impressed with the world.

The ending of Halo 3. Just being in Forward Unto Dawn in empty, cold space was an incredible mixture of closure, triumph and sacrifice. Very settling.

Also, the ending to AC: Revelations. A nice way to link the three Assassins - I'm also a sucker for Father/Son tales.

First time I beat an old lady to death in Grand Theft Auto III. Knew that was gonna be a special game.

World Of Warwarcraft. I generally say "wow" because it's shorter.

The first time you arrive at Jerusalem in Assassin's Creed, you're on horseback and way up on a hill and it looks fantastic. Throw in a parkour chase and you have a very wow-inducing game.

The demo for Bioshock, I must have played through it a dozen times. The water and fire, and all the architecture in the lighthouse, it all looked so good.

Getting in that first car and driving to your safehouse in the rain, at the beginning of GTA3.

Oh yea, that AC scene was great man.

Not sure on the Bioshock one, i have still yet to play that game.

Bioshock is a pretty great game, but the opening discovery moments are really some of its best. If you're ever on XBL and bored you should download the demo and check it out.

The opening of Bioshock really was great. Especially Andrew Ryan's introduction to Rapture.

Playing Metal Gear Solid for the first time was a big one for me. Completely changed the way I think about games.

The beginning of bioshock was really unsettling. Lol. When that door shuts behind you I was like, oh crap, no turning back

Being able to run in more directions than left and right in Super Mario 64.

I really wish I had played Mario 64. Everyone has such reverence for it, but I never got to experience it. :/

Yeah, I first played Mario 64 at a demo kiosk in Toys r' Us, it was pretty mind blowing.

When you see the Precursors for the first time in Jak 3, and they're all ottsels.

It was more "haha, oh wow" than a moment of astonishment, but I don't even care.

Mine was at Disney World, I think in Epcot.

I needed to have it. :oldrazz:

I'll also add, the random 2-player co-op spots in GTA San Andreas. Possible future multiplayer GTA made me happy.

Another game that gave me that WOW moment, was first setting foot inside the USG Ishimura in Dead Space. Wasn't sure what happened but you knew it was bad.
