Video game moments that made you say WOW

That whole damn game had me saying wow. It was just one big wow experience.

My friend told me the spoiler before I got to that part. I never look at him the same

Damn, yea thats reason to end a friendship. I had the guide and for some dumb ass reason, i read ahead and saw what happened. There was even a warning, in the guide that said, HUGE SPOILER, DO NOT READ!

Picking up enemies with the force and having them grab onto stuff to try to weigh themselves down in the force unleashed was great

I remember discovering Simon The Killer Ewok in Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. Man that was funny.

The end of Red Dead. I was literally stunned. I remember thinking, I don't think I have enough bullets for this, can I just run away and find some cover? haha

The Shodan reveal in system shock 2 (which Bioshock copy-pasted) is fabulous. The interesting thing about System Shock 2 is that regardless of the graphics now looking like cube heads, it's still far scarier an experience to games today. Dead Space is a poor imitation, Bioshock dumbed down console nonesense, Resident Evil unintentionally funny. Most of these games tend to simply be a waste of time. System Shock 2 is like a looney tunes cartoon you can watch over and over again. It's timeless. Wonderful game. Wonderful. To be fair though, scary games are very few. Silent Hill 2, Penumbra: Black Plague and Amnesia are the only ones that comes to mind. Amnesia and Black Plague being the only ones of this generation to work effectively as something scary. This is partly because of games mass market nature which suck the joy out of it and turn it to "pew pew!". Sad state games are in. Sad state.

- Every moment in God of War I, II, and III.

- My first playthrough of Resident Evil 4

- The latter portion of Uncharted 3

Speaking of Uncharted, the train sequence in Uncharted 2 was pretty amazing at the time.

Meh. I played Uncharted 2 before the third one came out and it didn't really do much for me. I've cooled on that series a lot since I tried to replay the second one.

I think you're wrong on that.

Also, I don't know if it's available on PC or not, but if it is, you should try the first Condemned. Very intense game with some genuinely good scares in it.

Condemned scared the hell out of me. You never knew when they'd just turn the game into a cut scene randomly. Normally in games you get time to prep for cut scenes, but Condemned takes your ass right into you getting flung around by someone you don't see.

Those mannequins in that store were scary as **** too. The way they followed you, and how the dudes imitating them would just disappear to nowhere. Man that game was scary.

F.E.A.R and F.E.A.R 2 had its fair share of wow moments. What stands out to me is at the end of the first game when you safely get away on the chopper and then out of nowhere Alma climbs in then the screen goes black *shudders*

Halo 2 campaign.

I really had such an amazing time with that game and a lot of it was awe inspiring.

SOTC

Like Figs mentioned the first encounter with the first colossus is hair raising and it only gets more excitingly surreal from there.

I'm gonna take it back to the NES, when I first played Metroid and found out Samus was actually a female...wow....just.....wow.

The MGS series without a doubt

All 3 Unchartered games
