:bat: Apparently it appears, that the mysterious figure who allegedly hires the assassin David Cain could presumably be “The Boss” himself… Sal Maroni(Eric Roberts). In a conversation earlier today, with a source close to the production, we asked numerous of questions, in as many ways as possible, concerning Anthony Michael Hall joining the cast of Batman’s The Dark Knight; and, what his role may be… unfortunately to say, to no avail. We were able, to extract a little piece of the puzzle, regarding how the film’s story may be taking shape. Surprisingly, he seem to be slightly bewildered when asked about Sal Maroni possible role and David Cain’s purported appearance.
Here is just a snippet of the conversation on TDK. You be the judge.
VillainWatch: Ok, let me change directions. On Rachel Dawes, I think most of the fans was stunned to see Rachel back in the sequel. Most fans really never connected with her; given, she is not a true character of the comics, compared to the many leading ladies that are.
Source: Well… maybe to the diehard, purist of the comics; but, I think the average fan and casual movie goer had no faults with the character. The way she was used in “Batman Begins” as a childhood friend, who understands his emotional traverse into manhood, while possessing some attraction to the person inside, Bruce Wayne the person; compared to just a love interest who is attracted to Bruce Wayne, the playboy millionaire. Grandiose maybe… I think it worked. The way they are using her in this film; those purist will be well satisfied.
VW: We know from numerous reports that says, Gotham’s criminal elements would exert the brunt of pressure on her, as well as, Harvey Dent, even from inside their own Justice Office, to the point of wanting them dead. What character or characters would apply such pressure?
S: Well obviously it will be someone who feels threaten and have the most to lose.
VW: Maroni?
S: (grinning) Who knows…. It can be anybody.
VW: The Joker?
S: Well…. no one really knows exactly who he is; but, I really can’t say how they are treating the story, except to say, it progress well. The Rachel Dawes character works appropriately, and that’s why they decided to bring the character back. Maggie will do an exceptional job in that role, replacing (name), and the fans, I think, will be pleased.
VW: There are reports, beginning to get some traction that an assassin name David Cain is hired to assassinate Rachel, and possibly Harvey Dent….
S: (big grin) Oh really? From internet blogs, no doubt.
VW: Yeah! Internet blogs are a great source for generating buzz for big budget films. Anyway, my question is, is there someone in this film, hired to assassinate Rachel Dawes and possibly Dent, that Batman will have to obviously intervene?
S: Well, I can’t confirm or deny whether this person is even in the film. It is obvious that certain criminal elements are exerting a lot of pressure on everyone, Batman, Gordon, Dawes, and Dent, because of some successes. Things start off good for the good guys; but, things quickly goes south in a hurry. The bad guys are winning. It won’t be easy for any of them. It get even worst by the end of the film, and it won’t get any better until the sequel.
VW: So it will be a sad ending?
S: Things won’t be easy for them, physically and personally.
We continued to pose questions concerning Anthony Michael Hall; however, we could not get any real, solid answers, of interest, on what role he’s playing in this film. Batman:The Dark Knight is schedule for a 2008 release.
