The Dark Knight Villains of the Knight

I think the idea of name dropping will happen, and perhaps Edward Nigma will be introduced as a character, but other than that, not sure.

Crime bosses will no doubt have names.

Too much name dropping with actors playing the roles can result in the actors not coming back to the next film, which is obviously a worry, so I am sceptical at best!

Riddler would be an awesome villain if done properly, perhaps setting up for the third? Altho a little too much like BF with that set up tho....

I'd love to see The Joker take Crane's fear gas and amplify it into Joker venom.

:bat: Apparently it appears, that the mysterious figure who allegedly hires the assassin David Cain could presumably be “The Boss” himself… Sal Maroni(Eric Roberts). In a conversation earlier today, with a source close to the production, we asked numerous of questions, in as many ways as possible, concerning Anthony Michael Hall joining the cast of Batman’s The Dark Knight; and, what his role may be… unfortunately to say, to no avail. We were able, to extract a little piece of the puzzle, regarding how the film’s story may be taking shape. Surprisingly, he seem to be slightly bewildered when asked about Sal Maroni possible role and David Cain’s purported appearance.

Here is just a snippet of the conversation on TDK. You be the judge.

VillainWatch: Ok, let me change directions. On Rachel Dawes, I think most of the fans was stunned to see Rachel back in the sequel. Most fans really never connected with her; given, she is not a true character of the comics, compared to the many leading ladies that are.

Source: Well… maybe to the diehard, purist of the comics; but, I think the average fan and casual movie goer had no faults with the character. The way she was used in “Batman Begins” as a childhood friend, who understands his emotional traverse into manhood, while possessing some attraction to the person inside, Bruce Wayne the person; compared to just a love interest who is attracted to Bruce Wayne, the playboy millionaire. Grandiose maybe… I think it worked. The way they are using her in this film; those purist will be well satisfied.

VW: We know from numerous reports that says, Gotham’s criminal elements would exert the brunt of pressure on her, as well as, Harvey Dent, even from inside their own Justice Office, to the point of wanting them dead. What character or characters would apply such pressure?

S: Well obviously it will be someone who feels threaten and have the most to lose.

VW: Maroni?

S: (grinning) Who knows…. It can be anybody.

VW: The Joker?

S: Well…. no one really knows exactly who he is; but, I really can’t say how they are treating the story, except to say, it progress well. The Rachel Dawes character works appropriately, and that’s why they decided to bring the character back. Maggie will do an exceptional job in that role, replacing (name), and the fans, I think, will be pleased.

VW: There are reports, beginning to get some traction that an assassin name David Cain is hired to assassinate Rachel, and possibly Harvey Dent….

S: (big grin) Oh really? From internet blogs, no doubt.

VW: Yeah! Internet blogs are a great source for generating buzz for big budget films. Anyway, my question is, is there someone in this film, hired to assassinate Rachel Dawes and possibly Dent, that Batman will have to obviously intervene?

S: Well, I can’t confirm or deny whether this person is even in the film. It is obvious that certain criminal elements are exerting a lot of pressure on everyone, Batman, Gordon, Dawes, and Dent, because of some successes. Things start off good for the good guys; but, things quickly goes south in a hurry. The bad guys are winning. It won’t be easy for any of them. It get even worst by the end of the film, and it won’t get any better until the sequel.

VW: So it will be a sad ending?

S: Things won’t be easy for them, physically and personally.

We continued to pose questions concerning Anthony Michael Hall; however, we could not get any real, solid answers, of interest, on what role he’s playing in this film. Batman:The Dark Knight is schedule for a 2008 release.

Edward Nigma taking Lucious Fox old job would be great. what a great way to bring Riddler in to the mix. This insider may have let on too much.

I don't think all of these cameos will make it in. Let us not forget its not like he will be Riddler or Cobblepot will be Penguin as we know him. Its no different than Dylan Baker in Spiderman.

Why don't you ever tell us where you get your stuff? Only half your stuff ever come true and it's usually the stuff we already know. :cmad:

Whatever! I still don't like the idea of the villain working for the hero. Do "Batman & Robin" comes to mind? :down

I don’t know if Villain is on the up and up but I could see that working. It would be a similar role to Zasaz. He would pop in and out during the course of the movie. He could be involved in a major plot point (like the scarring of dent or leading the Bat to the Joker) and could interact with many different characters.

However my gut says Villian is full of it.

Villain's "information" is not reliable, Nestor Carbonell is playing the Mayor, not David Cain, and before Spider-Man 3 came out he said Harry survived and Aunt May died (neither of which were true).

1) No one knows who Anthony Michael Hall is playing.

2) Nestor Carbonell is the mayor, not David Cain, according to everyone except you.

3) No one knows if Scarecrow is coming back in TDK or not.

Your "spoilers" about Spider-Man 3 before it came out were full of crap too, so forgive me if I don't put much stock in your "information".

The idea of Edward Nigma replacing Lucius Fox as head of Applied Sciences is interesting though.

The Scarecrow is coming back. It's been talked about all over the board and you must go read the casting sides. :woot:

I think it would be awsome if you see Joker in Arkham giving Zsas a little going away gift (guess what it is); "Say hello to my little friend!":woot:

I'd like to see AMH as Nigma who gets hired for Fox's old job. He's a genius after all, good with puzzles. And it was done in Batman: The Animated Series VERY well. Which is how I'd like to see Riddler portrayed. A ruthless genius who thinks he's smarter than everybody else, who is also obsessed with riddles.

David Cain hired as an assassin to kill Rachel and/or Harvey would be great. Batman should stop him, bring him in, and Gordon and Batman should interrogate him. He could either spill the beans or not say anything. That should be the end of that.

And I would love to see Cobblepot as one of the "freak" Mob Bosses that start to come in. Replacing the old order of crime in Gotham. And I think bringing in Roman Sionis as a business rival to Bruce Wayne would be pretty cool. Say, Roman's company wants to merge or something with Wayne Enterprises. Roman's comapany deals in arms and munitions, and Bruce doesn't want anything to do with them. Creating a grudge between Roman and Bruce. If anyone has seen Batman/Superman: The Movie, it would be something like the scene between Bruce and Lex Luthor, just replace Lex with Roman and you've got a great scene.

If old Cobblepot's in this franchise, a look in line with TAS would be cool...for Riddler, maybe he could be a psychologist that Bruce goes to in 3 after failing to save Dent from being scarred.

Riddler and Two-Face have become my favorite villains, next to Ra's.

Umm...you know that Penguin's look in the early TAS shows looked very much like what he did in Batman Returns.

Don't see it myself.

^ I see a similar nose, long hair, flippers, but that's about it. Bottom Line: Penguin's had his time, and anything other than a freakish version would be less than impressive. Just my two cents.

If we need a mobster besides Maroni, let's have Sionis instead. He's not been in a film yet.

I know it's been mentioned before, but Bob Hoskins would be a great Penguin. It would be nice to see him and Morgan Freeman in a movie together again.

I agree. Phillip Seymour Hoffman, James Gandolfini, and Vincent D'Onofrio would also be good Penguins IMO (although not as good as Bob).

I am not buying it.... I am 25% sure Hall is playing Nigma, so my gut says he is Nigma if he is someone important. I am thinking he just has a decent supporting role though... time will tell. Everything else can be assumed quite easily.... the David Caine thing is very interesting... but you only need to think for a good thirty minutes and do a little reasearch to come up with a name like that. Nolan doesn't like Penguin... the cameo just won't happen... maybe the name is mentioned but heck no we won't see an actor with dialogue in the role... maybe a peak at best but I doubt it. I like the creativity though so give the guy credit

I rly don't see a place in the plot for Nygma and there's rly not enough space for too many villains within 2 hours of film [maybe 2.5 seeing as marathon movies is the trend these days for the genre]. We need character development of the Joker, Harvey-Dent, Bruce, Maroni, Bruce-Dawes relations, Dent-Dawes relations, Gordon, the GCPD, the Gotham Mob and the whole vigilante offsprings matter. I think these are enough and in all honesty I'm pretty sure AMH's gonna fit in one of these.

200 million dollar surprise is AMH's character scars Dent in court and the money's for the next film plot creation :)))
