Vin Diesel is The Wheelman

Paramount Pictures has set John Singleton to direct and Lorenzo di Bonaventura to produce The Wheelman, a live-action adaptation of the Ubisoft video game "Wheelman." The game launched last month, with Diesel as its main character and the game's producer.

Diesel will play an expert driver who comes out of retirement to protect a woman from his past.

Rich Wilkes wrote the script; the writing team of Oliver Butcher and Stephen Cornwell did a rewrite.

Di Bonaventura (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) will produce with Diesel and his One Race Films partner Samantha Vincent.

I'm sure some will turn their noses up at this but I think it's smart move by Vin, he's hot again after the massive success of 'Fast and Furious' and this is the kind of movie the general audience like him in, so if he gets another hit with this it could help move him closer to his Hannibal movie.

I liked the demo of the game....but I wanna see how they will make the moving carjack move look believable in a movie. Even in that game it's a bit far out.

Well Vin Diesel was on decline before and then he does The Pacifier and goes back into decline.

I think his success from Fast and Furious will be shortlived. Hollywood's mistaken Vin Diesel as a top movie draw before and look what happened.
