Viola Davis/Shonda Rhimes Team Up for 'How To Get Away With Murder'

Annalise' reaction is the viewer's reaction :woot:

I think the one who shot Annalise might be Asher. My theory is that Annalise and Frank have a plan devised to set up the adopted sister, which explains Frank's demeanor leaving the hospital as well as him dumping her body in the woods to be found. But Asher showed up unexpectedly and kind of screwed up the plan. Maybe Bonnie was actually going to shoot her but Asher got in the way, a struggle happened and he ended up accidentally shooting her. That's why he and Bonnie were driving of fin that car together and when she went to the bathroom to wash the blood off of her, Asher ran out to go turn himself in out of guilt. He probably feels like its time he pays for something, after the whole gang rape story came out.

Just my idea.

Well then.

Knew that *****'s big mouth would be the end of her.

That should hopefully end the "Annalise is Wes' mom" theories too.

Good grief. That had to be one of the best midseason finales I've seen in a looooong time.

That was insane. I'm not going to be able to handle the wait until the next episode.

Are we supposed to hate Annalise? I get irritated with how everyone blames her for their problems but then run to her whenever they need help. That mid season finale was epic and I cant wait for the return.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn son. The last five minutes was literally like these characters were descending into Hell. That was just peak intensity. I haven't felt like that since the end up the Crawl Space episode of Breaking Bad.

I loved Annalise filling Asher in on Sam's death when the rest of the Keating Five tried to abandon ship, though.

Wow. That was an intense hour. Jesus.

Annalise...I feel for her. All the trouble she's in is cause she's been covering for their asses and the weight of the responsibility is showing on her. She's spiraling out of control. It's alot on her plate and the fact that she's willing to go to such desperate measures.....man.

Although I'm not too sure about the reveal at the end just yet. I gotta see how it pans out. As interesting as it may end up, I feel like it takes away from the organic relationship between Wes and Annalise.

But I can't wait for the next episode. Whew!

Yeah, the thing at the end with Wes leaves me scratching my head. Did he kill his own mother and Annalise helped him cover it up?

I love the gang and both Annalise and Asher are not perfect but I love that part so much. It's true too. The 4 are basically responsible for all these mess so it's time to return the favor.

My theory is that Annalise and Jean Grey had something to do (maybe just accidentally) with the death of Wes' mom so they're afraid he'd connect the dots and Annalise also feel guilty because the kid is now an orphan. I think they let him think he did it. Maaaaaybe.

Maybe they were her lawyers or something? I dunno.

So it goes Wes' mom died, and he was adopted and then his foster mom abandoned him like Annalise said. But why the name change? He seemed pretty old to be getting a new name after adoption. I mean, I'm not an adoption expert but I just feel like a new name is something given to like a baby when they're taken in, not a 10+ year old.

Witness protection, maybe?

Counseling sessions have been arranged for the scenery from that ep and Viola is footing the bill!

Easily the shows best ep to date, the way they ratcheted the tension and desperation up to breaking point was masterful, and doable thanks to anchoring it to an acting colossus. Annalise pulling card after card out to try and salvage the absolute mess they were in was manic stuff, Asher looked absolutely numb throughout it all.

I knew Connor wouldn't pull the trigger as he's been the one to struggle with the initial death the most. but I thought Laurel might well do it as she has shown to be steely under pressure. Wes snapping and shooting Annalise in the gut was quite shocking despite knowing it was coming in the sense we have seen her all season lying with a bullet wound in the gut.

As for the end scene, who knows what those 2 have been up to but young Wes came off kinda indifferent to the fact his Mom was dead. :nrv:

I have to say over this season I've found myself digging Bonnie more and more. :sly:

That was a much nicer mid season finale than The Blacklist which surprised me with it's dullness.

Everything is coming into focus now. I knew that Sinclair was going to get herself killed somehow even if she didn't deserve to die (vindictive and petty as she is, it isn't murder-worthy), she was going to piss someone off enough they were going to pull the trigger (or gun the gas in this case) on her.

That flashback too. I was not expecting that.

Annalise rolls with all killers on her squad.

Okay. So I know we haven't even finished season 2 but I was wondering what everyone would like for season 3. I really don't know what else could happen to keep the show. I'm guessing by the end of the season we will be done with the siblings, Sam's case is done right?. I'm hope Rebecca's story is also closed at the end and do you guys we will find out that Frank killed Lyla or is that done. For season 3 I'm hope maybe we can dwell more into Laurel's family.

Man both HTGAWM and JJ, this week's a damn good week for television. :hmr:

Well, I mean, if we're being real, the true responsibility falls on Sam and Frank for killing Lila in the first place. Realistically, none of this would be happening if Sam could just keep his d*** in his pants.

And possibly Annalise, depending on how far-reaching the repercussions were for whatever happened with Wes' mom.

I think the abandonment thing she was talking about was the suicide itself.

I think my favorite part of the episode might have been Annalise assuming any of the students would only go for a leg-shot after threatening Connor's boyfriend/dredging up Laurel's past/openly admitting to covering up Rebecca's death and lying to Wes about it. It's like, lol really gurl? You didn't think one of these kids would just be like "f*** it" and aim for the torso? :funny:

No bull. She was really going through it at the time so she probably didn't think about that possibility. I would've offed her or something haha. But what I'm wondering now is why did it look like Frank faked his reaction to Annalise being shot in the hospital? Was it cause he thought it was apart of her plan to set up Catherine?

Damn that was intense :wow:. The way they kept building up the tension throughout and then the ending :thud:. That was such a brilliant midseason finale. The wait for new episodes is going to be the death of me.

I think he knew the shooting was apart of the plan but he obviously doesn't know how close Annalise was to getting killed by Wes.

Question: How the heck are How to Get Away With Murder‘s Annalise and her students going to avoid jail time after that bloody fall finale — especially the way they hurled Sinclair’s dead body off the balcony? —Jennifer
Ausiello: While I can’t completely dismiss a reboot that finds Annalise and Bonnie as cellmates, it’s a safe bet they’re not all going down for the Shooting Night craziness. Which isn’t to say that escaping arrest will be easy. “There will be forensic experts all up in there. Sinclair was an ADA, so she’s a high-profile victim,” promises showrunner Pete Nowalk. “Still, what I’ve learned from real law-enforcement people who talk to us is that forensic science is actually very much up to interpretation. Annalise, as a defense attorney, knows that creating a mess [at the scene] is the best strategy. But whether it works or not, we’ll find out very quickly [when the show returns Feb. 11].”

Question: How to Get Away With Murder is on point this season! Any scoop? —Kellen
Ausiello:: I completely concur with your opinion. (In fact, Kellen, did you see HTGAWM made our Top 10 Drama Series of 2015?) And as the Shondaland thriller speeds toward its March finale, the series is casting for a trio of recurring guest stars — roles which could all possibly continue to recur into Season 3. So, get ready to meet the super-rich George and Beverly Mahoney and their Ivy League-educated son Charles. Could these be Annalise’s Next Big Clients? Or might they somehow be related to the recently murdered ADA Emily Sinclair? (We never did find out if she was married, engaged or single — only that she was from Connecticut.) Whatever the case, we should know the answer sometime before Valentine’s Day.
