Viola Davis/Shonda Rhimes Team Up for 'How To Get Away With Murder'

Lil' Wes is such a brat.

Alternately: Lil' Wes is such a 12 year old. :o

Last night's episode was crazy. I would have dropped Annalise's class episodes ago. That or snitched on everyone.

Tonight's episode gave me life.

Also these two better f***. If [blackout]Michaela and Asher[/blackout] are more than a drunken one-time thing like the promo suggests, then I need more than a kiss with these two.

Finale tonight.

You shut your damn mouth, Billeh. :o

Glad [blackout]Caleb[/blackout] is dead, tho. He was utter trash.

Theory about that ending:
Wes was in on it. Frank pulled the trigger. We saw him giving Wes the staredown after Laurel told him that Mahoney was Wes' father. At first I thought he had something planned for Wes. Now that I think about it, he knew Wes was thinking about approaching this guy and he also knew that this guy was basically the cause of all of his, Annalise's and Wes' pain. So he filled him in on everything. The guy raped Wes' mother, put pressure on her to lie on the stand, threatened her son, pushed her to the point of suicide, bribed him to bug Annalise and then tried to have her killed, only succeeding in killing her baby, which Sam then used to hold over his head, eventually forcing him to kill a pregnant girl on his behalf. Frank is one of the only people who knows that Wes shot Annalise. He knows that Wes holds her responsible for certain bad things in his life. If he's gonna put a bullet into Annalise because of Annalise's lies and manipulations, even when she's covered for him, Mahoney definitely deserves to die. This is a man who has completely up-ended Wes' existence without spending one moment being his father. We don't always see everything that goes on on this show. We didn't see anything between Annalise escaping Philip and her getting to the police station last week, but we saw that there was more to that picture tonight. And tonight, we never saw what Wes did after Bonnie ushered them out of Annalise's house and we never saw him actually decide to head to NY and confront Mahoney. I believe that's because he did so with Frank. Wes approaches Mahoney on the street, holds him in one place and Frank pulls the trigger on him. Consider it his apology to Annalise before going where ever he goes from here.

I think the one thing that seals it for me is something Pete Nowalk said in an interview after last week's episode. He said something to the effect of Wes being a little more contemplative or not rushing into things like he would have earlier in the series. On the surface, though, that's exactly what he was doing. What, he's gonna walk up to this bastard on the street and tell him he's his son? And then what does he expect to happen? What's the plan?

I believe this was the plan.

That makes sense, but I can't see Frank jumping right in to another murder right after being outed by Laurol. But hey I wouldn't be surprised. I think Mahoney's shooter is a new character we'll see in season 3. A guy like him has enemies, I'm sure.

Yes, this is most likely the case.

The way Wes approached Mahoney is very "I want a relationship wth you, daddy" which is not how I'd imagine him to be especially after learning that the guy raped his mother and is largely responsible for her taking her own life.

BTW what ever happened to Mahoney's son? Does this mean that [BLACKOUT]Wes has a claim on the Mahoney empire now that daddy is dead[/BLACKOUT]?

He should've been promoted in season 2.

Now kill Wes and get rid of him. :o

Boy could be a fascinating character but that actor just ain't got it. One look. One look for everything. It's especially apparent when you put up against actresses like Viola and Famke.

Underwhelming finale to an underwhelming season. The siblings case really dragged down the season and the finale was quite uneventful. And the "OMGs" moment weren't as good as the shocker scenes from season 1 finale which was an underwhelming finale too.

Lawd.

Apparently Mary J. Blige is guest starring this season.

Let’s hope Brett Butler still has the capacity for grace under fire.

The former sitcom lead (and recent Leftovers guest star) will show up on How to Get Away With Murder‘s upcoming third season, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Details about Butler’s role are being kept under tight wraps. Might she be part of the university, which will “figure prominently” in Season 3, per series creator Peter Nowalk? Scandal-plagued “Annalise’s teaching reputation is suffering,” he recently told TVLine, adding, “She needs to get her s–t together and go back and refocus on what her original passions were. That also means trying to get [the Keating 5] to care about school again. There’s a real feeling of, ‘Let’s get back to normal and move on.’ And we’ll see if that’s possible.”

HTGAWM‘s guest roster this season also includes Grammy winner Mary J. Blige, Esai Morales (NYPD Blue) and Amy Madigan (Grey’s Anatomy).

In addition to her 1990s comedy Grace Under Fire, Butler’s TV gigs include The Young and the Restless, Anger Management and a recent guest stint on The Leftovers.

Shot in the dark: They're gonna try to convince us that Wes has a new gf, but "Meggy" is really code between Wes and Laurel. I think they both know where Frank is and are hiding that from Annalise.

Yup. I can buy that. I actually thought after reading the first line that they will kiss and it will imply that they've been a couple already.
