And Nintendo got it. ****ing bastards say that Mario Kart plays with GC controllers and it wont play with any of mine.... even the goddamn wavebird. I am super ****ing pissed.

It plays with GC controllers. I just got through playing it with my GC controller.

Yeah, Spidey-Bat helped me out. Thank god too, I was freaking out. Oh and anyone wondering, Mario Kart 64 is just as kick ass as it was 10 years ago.

I still have my N64 and I never stopped playing Mario Kart

It is still as good, especially when you have four players.

This will be able to hold us off until they get around to the inevitable Mario Kart Wii.:woot:

Can I just get someone to confirm this for me before I download Mario Kart ........... you CAN'T use the standard Wii controller to play it at all? You HAVE to have a classic or GC controller?

That is correct...the remote does not work with it.

YAY!

MARIO KART AND comics ZONE FUNZORRSSS111!!

Sorry, I couldn't contain myself. :D

-can't wait to get back to his Wii to download-

Anyone wish Nintendo would let you return VC games for some pts?

That wouldnt be a bad idea. I'm kinda tired of Gunstar Heroes, but its a really fun game and makes for a great title in short sprees. Plus, it uses the wiimote, which is always a bonus for me. But personally, I'm really anal about the downloads since I have a bunch of SNES roms for games I know wont make it (honestly does anyone see TMNT IV making it? Or the Japanese only Lethal Foes of Spider-man.... which is easily the best 2D spidey game ever?).

Hell, I'm still waiting for a comics Zone review to see if its worth $8. Regardless, some points back wouldnt really be a bad idea. It would save some money if you need a memory card and needed to make some space.

I dont really care about the ghost saves. Kinda sucks that they arent making a real comittment to make everything fire on all cylinders, but I've never really made a habit out of playing the time trials on any of my games.

Anybody think we will get some of the TMNT games especially when the movie is released in March? I would love to see TMNT 2: Arcade Game (NES), TMNT 3: Manhattan Project (NES), TMNT 4: Turtles in Time (SNES), and TMNT: Hyperstone Heist (Genesis).

I wouldnt bet on it. Konami doesnt seem particularly interested on using the VC or Nintendo in general. After all, wouldn't they have released Metal Gear by now?

I don't think that Konami would have the rights to release the old games on the VC. I remember that the emulated arcade versions that were in the gamecube games had to have the soundtrack changed since the music rights were under the old animation company.

But doesnt Konami still have the TMNT liscense? Sure there could be some minor problems, but not enough to really prevent a VC game. I just think Konami isnt really interested or sees no profit in it.

Virtual Console Mondays
Three new titles, including the classic Super Mario World, hit the Wii Shopping Channel.
by Matt Casamassina

February 5, 2007 - Nintendo of America on Monday released three new Virtual Console titles to the Wii Shopping Channel. The games include the S-NES classic Super Mario World, the Turbografx-16 effort Vigilante, and the Genesis project Gain Ground.

The two-player compatible Super Mario World stars Nintendo's favorite Mushroom Kingdom characters in a traditional platformer setting. Gamers travel through 74 areas and find 96 exits, all the while using the run-and-jump skills of Mario in addition to all-new ones, such as the ability to temporarily fly after donning a feather. Players can even use Yoshi. Super Mario World is widely considered to be one of the best S-NES games available. The title will set downloaders back 800 Wii Points.

In Vigilante, gamers become a martial artist who fights a variety of street thugs on his way to rescue the kidnapped Madonna. Enemies attack with all sorts of weapons, from pipes and guns to chains and even on motorcycles and players can punch, kick, or use a nunchaku to protect themselves. Vigilante costs 600 Wii Points.

Finally, the two-player Gain Ground takes place in the 31st century after decades of peace and prosperity. Fearing the inability to prevent an alien attack, the United Earth Government creates a war simulator called Gain Ground, which goes haywire. Gamers must journey into the system and shut it down. Players must battle through five different time zones and use a variety of different charactes, each with unique abilities, to walk away alive. Gain Ground retails for 800 Wii Points.
