Revenge of the Fallen Visual Effects Oscar?

I don't give a **** about the Oscar, it's getting more and more ugly.

The benchmark for good visual effects in my book has always been how noticeable they are, you know? Doesn't the old adage go, "the best special effects are the ones you never notice." Transformers may look crisp, sharp, and like a billion parts are all coming together to form a robot than can morph into a car but, in the end, aren't they awfully in-your-face about it?

this works only with real life creatures,animals,humans,cars,buildings,....

how would you explain something that is not possible to build in real life? for example if you would watch spiderman 4 and you would see spiderman swinging through a city and there was a pink building. would you think its fake? why wouldnt you right? there are no pink buildings in NY.
