Animation Voltron: Legendary Defender

Maybe this means that we will finally get the "blazing sword" instead or just "sword".

I like the show, but again, too much comedy undercutting the material. Thundercats revival had a better balance of that IMO.

Collectively a much better season than the last one. And I disagree about the humor this season. Save for episode 5 they played it pretty straight IMO (the homage to Star Trek II was amazing). They hit us with a massive TON of plot as well as set up some things for down the road. Of the 78 episodes that were ordered we seen only a little over half. There's still 33 episodes to go.

1. some nice groundwork for some much needed Lance development. He can convert his Bayard from a blaster to a sniper rifle and now to a Altean Broadsword. The only other characters who've used a Bayard to that extent have been Zarkon/Lotor with the black Bayard. Also it looks like he's going to be the one to deal with #NOTMYSHIRO

2. Glad too see Pidge's main plot wrapped up for the most part. Curious to see what happens to their dad when he returns and tells the Galaxy Garrison what's up. Will they believe him? Or call him crazy and lock him up?

3. Keith's mom has got it going on....lol. Curious to see what will happen with Keith going forward. He's going to return to being a paladin i'm sure...but this exploration of his Galra side is going to be interesting. Could down the line they set up Keith vs Lotor for the Throne?

4. The Space Politics of the Galra was cool. Den of Geek kinda described it as a cross between GoT and the Klingons. Which makes some sense. Also Sendak? Where the hell has he been and they going to continue with him or not. Haggar has LA's as her minions now and with the Empire in ruins...does she even actually need him?

5. They need to give Hunk something to do. Something I would like to see them do in the next set of episodes. Though with Keith's Mom, Allura's new alchemy powers, Lance's wariness of Shiro things might a bit tight at the moment.

6. Lotor has been interesting this season. They do really seen keen to try to make him the benevolent dictator type. But his dual with the White Lion and his "victory or death" and the anger of getting kicked out might of been too much of a nod to him going down a darker route. Plus what ever happened to that voltron ship he was making?

7. I'm not sure how i feel about Zarkon being dead dead. He was comatose for all of season 3, and really didnt do jack in in season 4. And now he's gone.

I don't care for trickling the episodes out these way to artificially increase the number of seasons.

I don't need to know about Coran having an intestinal creature living inside of him. That's gross.

I actually think the balance is right when it comes to humor on this show. Yeah, I do think they sometimes go too goofy at times but everything being equal they always put the action and drama and characters at center stage for the majority of episodes.

Yeah, I can't complain about the humor, particularly this season. All of the episodes were pretty plot focused, and the most that we got was the Garrison Trio messing with the Galra droid.

I don't disagree about making six episode "seasons", especially since the other Dreamworks shows don't have this problem.

I honestly look at the split episodes as half of a season rather than a full one.

This was a good season, and I'm really liking Lance's gradual development.

"Later Pala-dudes" still brings a tear to my eye...*sniff*

I agree. To me this isn't Season 5 but Season 4 part 1 and then we get part 2 in June.

I do think this was the beast season we've gotten since the first two.

Then they should just call them half seasons instead of actual new seasons.

Netflix gave them a set episode order, Im not sure why they don't just have 10 episode seasons instead of splitting them into half seasons. Is the series doing THAT well that they want to drag it out as much as possible?

When season 2 launched, they already had episodes from season 3 ready and done. They are definitely dragging things out.

watched all the eps yesterday. I enjoyed it and am interested to see where they go next.

however, I concur with the posters above. I'm not a fan of these short, 6 ep seasons. :(

It's like you blink and the "season" is done. The flow of things take a hit for me. But, I still enjoyed the season. I laughed at Zarkon just being done so quickly (for now) and how Lotor just dismisses that Haggar is his mom.

DTL. Don't Trust Lotor.

I like how Allura gives Shiro an order that they can't get involved with the Galra Olympics. He does anyway, and she doesn't question or argue about it.

I see both sides of the netflix equation for seasons, 6 episodes and its done..if you grind it, yet on regular television that's 6 weeks which lets you have more time to digest every episode, as well as if they were too release it on a weekly basis, you would probably watch more netflix things. I imagine a lot of their shows will go a similar route on multiple seasons just to increase viewership overall.

Either way, despite it's corny moments, and the solution always being "Let's form voltron", I have a great appreciation for the show.

Anyone else think that the order Haggar have when she learned of Zarkon's death had something to do with Shiro's arm and that that is why he acting weird?

The Galra Olympics was such a great piece of world building IMO

Wouldn't surprise me. Ever since they beat Zarkon the first time in S2, Shiro and Zarkon have had some kind of connection. A Zarkon possessed Shiro down the line?

They're going to have to do something because eventually they're going to have to bring Keith back into the fold. And having him go back to the Red Lion seems kinda counter productive to Lance's development.

ALso anyone else getting a vibe later down the line of a Lotor v Keith fight for the Throne?

That was an awesome chunk of episodes. Can't wait for the next block.

I am almost certain that wasn't Zarkon. Likely won't show up till the last half of the last season. Or when Shiro returns, as they leaning heavily that the Kuron stuff is going to be picked up soon.

"Later, pala-dudes"= quote of the season.

I do hope that they have another Robeast soon, its been too long.

Wondered when we would get a trailer, since it is back this month.

OH YEAH, is that The Blazing Sword I see in the trailer? NICE! I can't wait for them to say "form blazing sword" instead of the lame "form sword".

Also, hopefully this means that Robeasts will be showing up soon.
