Okay, if the joker is not going to be blenched by an acid bath, that would destroy the relationship between him and Batman. What makes this villian so great is the fact Batman "made him". With that being said, I have faith in nolan.

Look, it doesn't destroy squat. It doesn't matter if Batman made him or didn't make him. What matters is that The Joker is criminal genius and Batman must stop him.

Noobs...

There are many ways that Batman might have made the joker and deforming him physically is only one way.

WAIT! Are you assuming this because of the card at the end of "begins"? In the original Batman, Joker used the calling card before he turned into the joker, so the card doesn't mean squat.

YEAH!!

Nolan, you know what to do.

The mere fact that 'it happens like that in the comics.'

In fact in B Begins it was Ra's who indirectly killed the Waynes and thus created Batman. So it's like what Joker did in B89... but indirectly. Batman has now more reasons to have Ra's as his main nemesis that the Joker.

Batman 89's Joker just used a deck of cards in general (which I even thought was a stretch), not specifically the Joker card. It's far too convenient and coincidental for some guy who leaves Joker cards at crime scenes to wind up accidently turning into a clown. It's the same reason I hate that Mr. Freeze's real last name is Fries (pronounce "freeze").

Even though i know Joe Chill isn't the Joker, i find it wierd that the Joker was suspected and/or convicted of armed robbery, double homicide.

why do you find that weird? Joker robs stuff all the time, and kills people all the time...so how is that weird?

Joe Chill went to prison for armed robbery, and double homicide.

The parallel i bet was intentionally put there as a little nod to Burton. Just as a tease.

^yeah . . . just a salute, if you will to the original . . . there were little things like that strewn throughout the whole movie . . . .

Anything but a straight shot.

So does that mean if his opponent has a gun, Bats has to walk at him at an angle or sideways or something?

Erm... bulletproof armored black suit?

I think that was a bit more than a "nod to the Burton franchise".

I understand what you mean. But I had this theory a while ago that alot of people liked.

The ending of Begins shows the Joker card giving us the impression that the Joker character has already been established. Others like me think that this is before Joker's transformation. So we can assume that an ordinary criminal is using Joker cards as ways to make a mark on Gotham City so he can be recognized. But later when Batman catches him in the Ace Chemicals Factory, he is thrown overboard into a vat of chemicals that turns him into an actual Joker. It would be brilliant iorny. This man has now become what he has used as a calling card. A clown, hence the name Joker.

Now this is why the Joker has completely lost it. He can't understand how fate has taken a toll for the worse and made him resemble his calling card. This is why the Joker sees life as a joke. He thinks that some powerful force is toying with him, playing a joke. Now he wants to get even. The joke's now on Gotham. On Batman!

Well hey, the Phantom of the Opera is there inside your mind. And by "your" I mean great slogan writers.

Yeah, I know it was weak, shut up.
