WandaVision WandaVision General Discussion Thread

What's weird about Hawyward is he mentioned to Wanda that "Not everyone can bring their Boyfriend back from the dead." Which Wanda was genuinely shocked by because she cant do that as evidenced with her conversation with her children so that leads me to believe it might be a deeper thing, in universe no one knows or expects Wanda to have that power, so maybe he's something more.

But, he's probably just an A Hole.

OK thanks for pointing this out because I thought that felt odd too. Like how would he know she could even attempt to do that? It seems Wanda didn't know the full extent of her abilities at that point and wouldn't have even thought of her trying to do that. It was strange to me that Hayward mentioned that. Very peculiar.

How many people still follow comics? I gave up on them some twenty years ago because of the convolution, resurrections, overreliance on events, dense continuity, retcons and general bad storytelling. So far, the MCU has done an OUTSTANDING job of adapting things from the source material. But I still believe the exposition has bogged down WandaVision tremendously. I fully understand that exposition is absolutely necessary, but now the shows are telling us what happened in previous movies. And it feels really clunky to me. This problem will get worse if Disney keeps older characters in the MCU for too long. I think 8 to 10 years is a good length of time for characters to tell their stories. If they continue on for too long, I don't think people will be willing to watch dozens of movies and shows to understand them. That's why I'm totally okay with killing off characters. Just as long as they're treated with respect.

Look at this reading order for DC's Infinite crisis from back in 2005:

Infinite Crisis #1
Gotham Central #37
JLA #124&125
Wonder Woman #222&223
Green Lantern #7&8
Aquaman #35&36
JSA Classified #4
Infinite Crisis #2
Hawkman #47-49
Superman #225
Aquaman #37
Wonder Woman #224
Infinite Crisis #3
Aquaman #38&39
Robin #143-5
Day of Vengeance Infinite Crisis Special #1
Infinite Crisis Secret Files 2006 #1
Infinite Crisis #4
Batman #648-50
Nightwing #116
Teen Titans #32
Robin #146&147
Rann-Thanagar War Special #1
Catwoman #52
Adventures of Superman #648
Teen Titans Annual #1
Nightwing #117
Infinite Crisis #5
Superman #226
Action Comics #836
Adventures of Superman #649
Teen Titans #33
Batman Annual #25
Infinite Crisis #6
The Omac Project Infinite Crisis Special #1
Villains United Infinite Crisis Special #1
Infinite Crisis #7

That's 49 comics across over 20 odd titles! and doesn't include either the prelude or aftermath.

I for one do not want TV/Film comic adaptions to copy this nonsense.

Lizzie Olsen has a beautiful, radiant smile and an adorable laugh. I will miss not seeing her on our screens each week. She ought to feature in more MCU properties and deserves a 2nd season.

This is great, and I'm glad than Marvel is doing the same thing that Lucasfilm did for The Mandalorian as far as making-of documentaries for their series, but it is kind of sad that we're getting an in-depth behind the scenes feature on WandaVision and we have yet to see that for the majority of MCU films because they skimped out on Blu-ray extras.

yeah...I won’t read much into it, but...

Pre-Finale Predictions:

Is there another unrevealed antagonist?
Yes. It is mentioned or revealed in a post-credit scene, but the entity involved is not actually shown on camera.

Does 'our' Vision exist at the end?
Nope, he sacrifices himself to save Wanda and the kids. The last stage of grief is acceptance, after all.

Do the kids exist at the end?
Yes, and I think they will be in Doctor Strange 2.

What happens to Hayward?
I don't think he'll die or anything, but I doubt he'll be the Director of SWORD by the time we see SWORD next time in the MCU.

What happens to Agatha?
Agatha becomes 'good' by the end of the episode. I think there is somebody that she wanted Wanda to bring back to life, and with that off the table, she will become a mentor.

What happens to Fietro?
Goes back to his home universe in the Multiverse of Madness.

What happens to White Vision?
"Dies" in a fight where Vision sacrifices himself.

Who is Fietro?
It'll be implied, but not directly stated, that he is from the Fox Universe.

Does Doctor Strange Appear?
Yes, in a mid credits scene teasing Multiverse of Madness.

I think that's the likely conclusion that Hayward is just an overly militant, a-hole tightwad rather than some traitor. That said, I don't want to completely rule anything out.
That’s the feeling I get so far. I would have expected him to be less blatant if there was going to be anything like that to him.

I agree as well, but I have gone with the more "he's an admirer of Thunderbolt Ross" outlook for him.

Blind Wave brought up in their reaction video that perhaps the twins powers are activated only when they're near each other. So in order for the Krypton gene to show in tests, both boys would have to be present.

I've seen that theory floating around. Not a big fan of it since they are fraternal, if they were identical twins then id be something I wouldnt mind exploring.

Maybe they'll become the Wonder Twins.

Anyone in the UK watch these at the exact time they come out? If so what time would that be? I usually watch on the Friday but normally after work.

I definitely don't watch it exactly when it comes out but only late at night on Friday. I want to enjoy it not be straining to stay awake for it.

I really hope the crazy theories don't follow the other MCU shows. I think out of all of them, WandaVision sorta sets itself up for that more than the upcoming shows but a lot of the theories just became grating.

So excited for the finale tomorrow! I'm really ready for whatever they have in store for us. It's been a hell of a ride.

That last episode really left me satisfied with the whole series and gave me something I was really wanting to this point. I think I'll be cool with whatever direction they choose to go in the finale.

Agreed. Going into this series I had no idea what to expect and it ended up being the highlight of my year so far with entertainment. Just an all around different and well done show.

It’s crazy that they went with such an out-there concept and delivered on it. I was expecting (and very hyped for) material like what we are seeing in the FatWS trailers from the MCU shows but they’ve really shown they are willing to try things that are very different with this. People always complain about lack of risktaking with Marvel, but the platform they’ve now created allows risks to be taken as it doesn’t matter so much if any one project fails and they aren’t reliant on any particular characters with Stark, Cap and Widow all waltzing off (one literally :D ).
