Infinity War War Machine/Rhodey... Like or Don't Like?

I concur. Though I wish we got more dialogue about his injury or how he felt being reunited.
Yeah it was odd that it wasn't even mentioned. He was just ready to fight, the armor didn't look to compensate him either.

I loved
him lighting up the Wakanda barrier like that

I really hoped for an acknowledgement. Like when he welcomed them back. They could have asked how his legs were and a quick 30 sec scene about the recovery and how Tony really did his best.

When he was
floating in the air firing all of his weapons simultaniously I was in awe.

I guess when Ross asked if he regretted the Accord situation it was partial acknowledgement. He accepted what happen and moved one trying to do the best he can. Still a brief mention or a talk when Shuri was around could have been neat.

Badass, now THIS is the War Machine from the comics.

It's still really not, personality-wise. But at least he's not just "B-Grade Iron Man, Tony's buddy with a hand-me-down suit" anymore, they each have a completely different weapons set and can do stuff the other one can't.

I meant action wise.

They could do SO much more with his character. At least they let him kick some ass in this and in Civil War.

Hopefully he's more significant in the sequel.

Puzzling how he's better utilized here compared to the Iron Man films.

We needed more scenes with him and Falcon.

They seemed quite close in the Wakanda action sequence.

I'm ready for a War Machine movie.

I think our best hope might be an animated film. Or if they went for a younger Rhodey.

I kinda think Idris Elba might have been the best actor for the role, but even with the weak writing for the character, he'd have been wasted.

I really prefer Don Cheadle in the Avenger films as opposed to his characterization in the Iron Man films. He gets more to do.

I thought he was great in the film from start to finish - His action scenes were perfect!

I personally think Rhodey has the best portrayal in IW since the first Iron Man movie. The way he stood up against Thunderbolt Ross and shrug off the Court Martial that he will eventually face (which makes Stark as the only one who still supports the Accord) makes him finally his own man, and not a government lackey. I hope to see more of him in A4.

I didn't quite buy him easing off the Accords that way, given his portrayal in CW. It obviously makes sense given what's going down, but it just seemed a little too quick & easy for him to throw in the towel on the legality stuff.

Hope we see more of that insane firepower in a year's time. This was the best we've seen so far. I like how we was working with Falcon.

Dependent on how long it's been since CW,Rhodes would've had a bit of time to a lot of time to consider the fall out that occurred specially given he'd have had a fair bit of free time during recovery.

Then when these ships appear and all hell breaking loose in NYC maybe as a military man who is not a Desk Jockey his mind decided he could go with red tape or action.

Action winning the day (of course)

So maybe not so quick as it looks?

I wish we got more of that. It was really interesting.

I thought his searching for Falcon was eerie af. There's something about the two of them both being military guys and one is searching for the other on the battlefield and it's so tragic that Rhoadey didn't even realize Falcon had died just a few feet away from him. This is the type of material I want to see in a superhero movie. Yes we know Falcon is gonna come back but in the moment it works and feels emotionally valid.

I concur. I just wish we got a scene with the 2 of them working together to bring the FIRE to the Outriders. Maybe also a scene of those 2 hugging when they reunited. Something that connected these 2 former soldiers.

war machine is great like always. i do wished he had a memorable ground battle scenes similar to iron man 2.

imagine him and groot going berserk on the outriders :hmr:
