Fantasy Warner Bros to reboot Willy Wonka

What’s next, a TV prequel series about Alfred Pennyworth?

Oh wait....

When are they going to learn no one gives a **** about where characters like this came from?

Willy Wonka is one of those strange, mysterious characters that I feel is better the less you know about him.

Yeah. I enjoyed the 2005 version, but the stuff with Wonka's childhood and meeting the Oompa Loompa's was rather unneeded. (Though anything with Christopher Lee in it is always good)

Gene Wilder was perfect, the story was perfect, the ending was perfect just learn to leave some things alone.

Not every movie need's a trilogy of prequels and sequels.

And a Willy Wonka prequel is the way to get money instead of lose it on a flop?

Hell, I'd rather see a time skip sequel where Charlie is the factory owner and we see the other four kids as adults who may still be kinda mutated.

Why don’t they just finally make Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator. I mean, they even go to space!

Cause the Chocolate Factory is the only one people cared to read. :o

This is everything we need right now. This is gonna change the game

I'll say one thing and only one thing about this (I'll probably end up saying more than one thing, but **** off): If this movie has a bunch of delicious sounding candy bars and Warner Bros. doesn't secure some sort of license to make the bars a reality, I'm ****ing SUING. :o

I still want a Scrumdidlyumptious Bar, dammit.
Relevant once again.

Having Paul King direct does have me interested.

I love Tom Holland, but he's nowhere near weird enough for Willy Wonka. And Chalamet just doesn't do anything for me in general.

Also this entire concept doesn't need to exist in the first place, no matter who's in it.

So is this a prequel to the Gene Wilder movie? The Johnny Depp movie? Or the book?

The Johnny Depp version already had a backstory, so probably not that.

If the Gene Wilder version, are they casting a young Gene Wilder then? And just steal the iconography of that film so they can market it (ie orange face Oompa Loompas)

Or be true to the book and make a prequel of that Willy Wonka?

I wish I didn't care, but I'm mildly interested because of my love of Roald Dahl's books.

I guess now that we run out of Silence of the Lambs prequels/sequels/remakes, Hollywood is moving on to other dead horses to re-beat.
