That script looks seriously bogus (no surprise there), but I don't want to see a Bruce Wayne/ Batman that is over the death of his parents. This should always stay with him, whether people like Schumacher like it or not. Asking a question or two about the Waynes is a natural progression.

BATMAN DEFIANT isn't the worst we could see.

I personally like:
BATMAN BEGINS
BATMAN RISES
BATMAN BECOMES

If it is a series taking place in his first three years as the Batman, he REALLY wouldn't fully BECOME the Batman we know (world's greatest detective, master of martial arts, etc) until that time.

Batman Rises ain't bad.

Why? Personally, I find Batman's characterization best when he's come to terms with his parents' deaths. Right after it happens, and in his early years, it makes sense that he'd stiff be hung up on it, but after a while, the angle just wears out, IMO.

From my perspective, it all depends on the person. There are some people who will definitely get over tragic events far more quickly than others. I view Bruce Wayne as someone whom is constantly haunted by the death of his parents for reasons I'm not sure I can explain. It's just a part of his nature, in my opinion.
I recall an old episode of The Animated Series where Batman saves the lives of two kidnapped children to the effect Bullock utters, "Poor kids. Trauma like this can really stay with them." Gordon looks up and witnesses Batman taking his leave and replies, "Yeah .. for some .. all of their lives."
Of course, I agree that all Batman stories shouldn't dwell on that tragic event, but I see no harm in Wayne showing his longing for them once in a while. What makes the character (Batman/Bruce Wayne) unique in my eyes is that he doesn't want to put that horrible night behind him. He has had opportunites (most recently in Green Lantern), but he chooses to hold onto the pain for reasons of his own. And I guess I kinda like that about Batman.

Well, I dont like sequels' titles, because they all have no difference in the meaning.

This is fake... But interesting nonetheless.
Thanks for posting it.

It should've been called Batman. Then we wouldn't get this lame "it's a prequel" crap that I still hear, to this day!! They also backed themselves into a corner by going with Begins, since it makes the sequels harder to name.

I haven't read all the responses on this thread so I am not sure if this has been discussed, but this is COULD be real. If I remember correctly there was talk that a while back that Bruce will be focusing on rebuilding a certain part of Gotham (Park Row) and that this site would serve as a backdrop for one of the movies biggest action sequences. So I recommend taking it with a eager grain of salt. I think this would be fantastic way to start of with the sequel. Not only would it give the Gus kid who played Bruce the chance to do it again because the events in Bruce's childhood take place a few years after the death of his parents. And it once again shows that Bruce Wayne is the focus of the movie. And I would love the introduction of Dr. Thompkins. Just my thoughts

BULLOCK
(lights his cigarette)
Well...
(exhales smoke)
... welcome to the great city of
Gotham, Jim. Life ain’t fair here.
That’s were we come in.

Surely an academy award nominated writer,as Jonathan Nolan is, would know where to use were

First off, the sequel shouuld be called Batman Burritos.

Secondly, this script is the fakest fake in the history of fakedom.

Lmao. Such phenominal writing!

Plagiarism actually. lol That "Jeeves" line was taken directly from Miller's new Batman and Robin: The Boy Wonder series. The words come from Vicky Vale, of course.

Makes ya think ..

I doubt they copied it from All-Star. It's a really old cliche, people calling butlers "Jeeves". It's yet another reason i'm postive this script is all kinds of fake. Jonathan Nolan is above such a lame joke.

I will admit, as long as he doesn't dwell on it, it'd be fine in my book if it stuck with him. It's just if you try to hammer his pain into the reader/viewer it becomes too much and gets annoying and such.

Ironically, Goyer's leaked script was loaded with spelling errors. :o

Lois Lane went to school?

Obviously common sense was never a subject. :(

I won´t waste any time with this. Will people ever learn that IMDB is not reliable?

In a word? No.

In two words? Not really.

In thre...okay, I'll stop now. :(
