The Dark Knight The Real Dark Knight Script Download Link!

Hmmm... I guess Dent is dead after all.

Thanks!

An early draft, since it doesn't have any page numbers. But very cool.

The scene when Joker leaves The penthouse is in here. :woot:

Interesting that it says the Joker's wearing flesh colored makeup over his scars during the sniper scene.

Are we sure this is real? Looks real...

"Field stripping the shotgun and tossing the pieces in different directions"

Is it now finally evident that Bruce didn't break the shotgun in half?

Interesting how several scenes have been re-worked in the film. I'm curious though if this was the final draft of the Joker's first scene with the mob, as it's clearly different from the film. Heath really added some life to it.

do you guys know if this available anywhere else on the net, i would love to read it at work but cant get to that site cause its blocked

Well...

I'm beginning to lean into the Harvey is dead camp.

I mean, they don't say "dead" but they say "Dent's body. Grave." Grave, granted, could be a direction of how they're looking, but saying his body and not just Dent? Also, saying that the scene we saw with Gordon and the picture of Harvey was a funeral? I dunno. It's still slightly murky. But... I think he's dead.

Anyone find any deleted/alternate scenes yet?

I looked through the script in the art book to get the final verdict.
Said he was dead. Neck broke when he hit the ground.

yes thank you for this! i've been desperately wanting to read the script but didnt want to buy the apparently crappy art book....

and also, dent is so DEAD. i mean, it says in giant letters-

"Dent lies at the bottom of the hole, his neck broken. DEAD."

although it seems suspicious that they would really, really emphasize his death...hmm...for right now i'm siding with death.

Anyone else look through all the Joker scenes? I found it very interesting that Jonah put in several instances in the middle of Joker's dialogue where he'd just smile or laugh. Throughout the entire script, it really does seem like Joker can't help his excitment. In the same scenes of the final cut, Ledger rarely does this and plays it more grim.

Pretty intriguing.

I would've loved to have been a fly on the wall while the Nolan brothers were writing this script. That would've been so interesting.

I noticed this as well, but I think the interrogation scene in the film plays out more powerfully than written, even if we don't see Joker spitting out a tooth. :oldrazz:

Batman is positively freaking out, and Joker just eggs him on. Then Bats REALLY starts laying it out on him, and Joker bursts into laughter. It's downright chilling.

It's also clear in this version that Joker thinks Dent is actually Batman during the Slaughter truck chase. I do think the finalized single, "Hmm" works better than the conversation he was having with his thug about it. :funny:

wow im read pages 1-25 so far and its just amazing

I would have loved to hear ledger impersonating an old lady when calling the news station like he did in the script.

I'm also :lmao: since my friend thought Edison Chen (the LSI VP) originally had a bigger part but the HK sex scandal led to most of his stuff being cut. It's clear here that his character only had a 5-second part to begin with. :oldrazz: I just think it's amusing since everyone made such a huge deal of it at the time....

I thought it played out pretty much the same way. Ledger just changed a few lines here and there. The script details a much more brutal visual, though. In the film, Joker gets 2 punches and we just see his make-up running off. In the script, Joker is actually bleeding and smiling like a maniac the entire time. I would have preferred that.

Joker did think Dent was Batman in the film, momentarily at least. He even tells Batman this in the interrogation scene. If you look at the chase again, Joker is just toying with the SWAT van, hoping that if Dent wasn't really Batman, that he'd lure him out. That's why he gives the "hrm" when he sees the Tumbler. It was a confirmation that Dent was lying.

There's definitely a few lines they must have changed on the day of shooting.

"Like my mother said- if you're good at something, never do it for free."

I could've sworn I read somewhere that heath did takes where he used the exact words from the script and then there were times where he changed things around and sometime did something completely different. Its great reading through the script and seeing what he changed.

I thought that was a really good and kind of twisted line. After reading the script, I was disappointed that that line wasnt in the final film.
It gave me the thought that maybe Jokers mom maybe was a prostitute.

I was reading the hospital scene, and Joker says: "And you know the thing about chaos? It's fair."

I could've sworn in all my viewings of the film, Joker says "it's fear". I even looked at it again, and if he's saying "fair", then he pronounced it very strangely.

I love the way they name Batman in his first appearance: The Real Batman.:brucebat:
