Absolutely loved this movie

9.7/10

The best fighting movie I have ever seen.

I own Miracle and I remember how well that film was made. This film will surely create new UFC and MMA fans

Same here.

I really thought Tommy was going to somehow find a way to win with one functional arm.

i loved how the film was unpredictable and the realism of the story

Undoubtedly, this is the greatest fighting film I have ever seen. The acting was top tier, the fighting scenes were believable and exciting, and the story/direction was refreshing.

I demand this director film more movies!

Well, I wouldn't put it above Rocky. It was good, but not Rocky good. :oldrazz:

I got pretty welled up at this film, so amazing.

The scene where Tommy tells his father off, followed by the scene of a drunken father in the hotel room.

That **** got to me, bad.

I love how in the end there is no villain. They both have very good reasons to win and you can root for either or.

For those MMA fans (like me) who went to go see the film and wondered if Kurt Angle's character was based on the legendary Sambo and MMA world champion Fedor Emelianenko, ponder no more:

Kurt Angle said "They wanted me to act like Fedor... Because Fedor was the hottest fighter at the time, they wanted (Koba) to look and act like Fedor in terms of his demeanour. It’s kind of that ‘I don’t even care’ attitude."

I love how Gavin gave the best MMA fighter of our time a reference in the film. :awesome::up:

I think I got more emotional during this movie than any sports film I've ever watched. Just the imagery in the final fight of Tommy as this sort of [blackout]injured animal, huddled in the corner all alone (without his trainer/father) and refusing to give up[/blackout] was so incredibly moving and powerful to me. Of course, a lot of that was Tom Hardy's performance. All the performances were fantastic in this.

If there were any justice, there would be Oscar nods, but sadly, with The Fighter fresh in the Academy's memory, I know it'll never happen.

im dragging my gf back to go see this again.

Saw this yesterday. Hands down one of the best films I've ever seen. All the performances were top notch. Hardy was a goddamn animal. However, Nick Nolte's character blew me away. He did a wonderful job. It was just a well crafted, well written, well directed film. I will definitely be seeing it again. 10/10 for me

After seeing Bronson a few years ago, I knew it was only a matter of time before Hardy became recognised as one of the top talents working today.

Can't wait to see this.

I own Miracle and I will own this movie.

****ing epic...been thinking about how good this movie was the past few days.

Big question will be the box office performance this week after word of mouth

By the way, Nick Nolte should be a LOCK for a supporting nomination and be favored right now for the win

This movie was fantastic, best film I've seen this year. Paddy, Brendan, and Tommy were all great characters, and watching Paddy trying to reconcile with his sons and failing got to me. All three had reasons for why they acted they way they did.

The fighting was great, the choreography and all. I did get a little choked up watching the final fight.

It's weird, everyone I talked to enjoyed the movie. It was very well received, but very few people saw it. Maybe the awards push can help it out.

One thing I will say, September release was a bad idea. They probably should've pushed it back more.

It opened in only 1800+ places. Its box office run is not surprising, a shame but not really a surprise.

Caught it again last night (before Drive).

It is a shame. This film (to me) is the greatest fighting flick ever made. On the mountain, it stands above Cinderella Man, The Fighter, Rocky, Rocky IV, etc. Yes, it that good.

This film is near-perfection. Hopefully, it'll reach cult classic levels a decade from now. Tom Hardy's ascend into further stardom in the states could help the cause. After TDKR, Hardy will be a household name so here's hoping...

Saw it tonight. Amazing film. Loved Hardy's performance, and Nolte was superb too.

Just bumping to say I saw it last night and loved it. I am now motivated to get buff.

Nick Nolte I'd say will probably get an Oscar nod for this film most likely.
