Gervais has said it's the "Third in our trilogy of TV sitcoms... another naturalist observational comedy, dealing with everyday problems, human foibles and social faux pas... but with a dwarf... It's returning to our Office roots of fake documentary... It follows the life of a showbiz dwarf, Warwick Davis, who's really a showbiz dwarf. He plays a twisted version of himself and he's doing this documentary to try to get his career back on track. He has a big tax bill, he's going through a messy divorce and he's trying to get back his Hollywood career. He's a conniving, back-biting little Napoleon." Confirmed cameos include Steve Carell, Johnny Depp and Sting.

I loved The Office, thought Extras was really underrated and stood up nicely to The Office, and can't wait for this. Really glad to see Gervais back with Merchant doing a series for the BBC (and HBO, I presume). I was at a recent Q&A Ricky and Warwick did at the Apple store in London. They showed exclusive previews and it looks hilarious. Ricky said this is the funniest thing he and Stephen have written. Johnny Depp's scene is amazing.
It starts on November 10th here in the UK and I think they said 2012 (February maybe? I'm not sure) on HBO.
Ricky also said Karl won't appear in this as people would just be waiting for him to appear and he wanted the focus to be on Warwick.
He also said he thinks Warwick is the best physical comedian since Chaplin.
