Was this supposed to be a trilogy

Considering new guys came along and inherited a gigantic saga without much clue on what to do at first, I say its wise for them to have concluded these story archs and put an x4 far into the future. The more times you chance luck, the more likely you are to fail, which is why im concerned about the magneto and wolverine spinoffs. They cant approach those overconfident in the least, and if they still think that pacing does the job everytime....thats playing with fire imo.
