Watch Silk Spectre kick some ass!

Yeah, smoking is what makes people look older. I never smoked and that's why I look so young (seriously..:whatever:)

Wouldn't her superhero antics actually increase her ageing process?

I was going along the lines of having cancer with the smoking

Well to be an effective superhero, you'll need to develop high metabolism and a low heart rate which are often associated with fit people in their elder years

professional athletes who don't end up with major injuries and continue to train lightly in the twilight years seem to handle the ageing process much better

In Watchmen didn't they have those things on the ends of the cigarettes that were better filters, thus not as bad for you?

I don't think those were filters...I think they just held tobacco balls or something? Most likely a stylistic thing, and hey you don't have cigarette butts everywhere!

they are actually posh grips so your fingers don't smell of smoke all day after you've choked down a couple

Other then that, the only thing that bothered me isn't new. It is how dark Ozy comes off as. They may as well just slap a "Villain!" sticker on his head :/

Agreed. I want the people who never read the GN to be suprised when they find out he was behind the whole thing, and I'm not sure if they really will be if they present Ozy all dark like this. Especially in his new poster, it practically gives away what he does in the tagline.

Malin Åkerman

No doubt. :woot::up:

I know, right? That poster might as well just come out and say "This character is a former hero who is behind the whole conspiracy to prevent world war by faking an alien attack to scare the world into uniting."

In fact, my brother, who never read the book, saw the poster and asked me "hey, does that guy genetically engineer a giant squid to teleport into Manhattan killing millions, but only as a means to stop a nuclear holocaust?", and i had to correct him, "no, that's only in the book. in the movie i think he frames that other dude". And my brother was like "yeah, i had a feeling it might be that too, i was gonna say it." Needless to say, the movie is spoiled for him, and anyone else who might see that poster.

I'm actually surprised they left some of those on the board, if it's true that Captain Metropolis isn't at the Crimebusters meeting. If it's Nite Owl leading the meeting, I dont think he'd make "black unrest" an issue to be dealt with.

not really, he needs to be inspired by blake's words as some sort of young gun.

someone more upbeat should do it. it makes sense it would be night owl 2 since he'd want his own group kinda like the night owl 1 would.

but there's nothing wrong with putting cap metropolis in there.

Actually, it makes sense in the grander scheme of things. Ozy thinks he has the answer then, but is shown by the Comedian that he doesn't have a clue. He re-evaluates his plans, and continues it into the ending we all know so well. It shows a progression and a much stronger character arc. Even in the new trailer you can hear him say that he wants to save the world. That is the goal of the character in the film.

I like the bit of Ozy from the trailer - it should dash away any nagging thought the GA might have that he's the bad guy :hehe:

In most drafts of the script, Nite Owl runs the Crimebusters ("Watchmen") meeting. They tie it into his "I'm nothing if I'm not a hero" theme, so it kind of works out well, actually.

I don't like Nite Owl 1 being a fool like Metropolis (because he is not; the small bit of criticism on those adventurous times comes from his pen), but I'm gonna wait to see how this is handled.

Maybe Snyder found some way to work it out.

Wow. I need more sleep. That's what I get for staying up late to watch QUANTUM OF SOLACE.

CAPTAIN Metropolis.

Criminy. Sorry.

I definitely think Metropolis is naive. And Dan does have a bit of that naivete inherent in his character. It's not just about dressing up because the sex is good. :)

Alright: then you call Metropolis naïve (that's the sympathetic word I call Dan, just like you), and I call him a fool, as I understand he climbs some further degrees of stupidity.

Metropolis? He gets decapitated...

I wouldn't call that stupid, per se. :)
