Immense talent??? i don't know about that. I'm sure their decent players, but immesely talented they are most certainly are not. Theres nothing talent about doing a bob dylan cover with 3 chords and making it 3 mins.

MCR is a typical pop band who do nothing to impress or set themselves apart. But that just my oppinion. I feel the mainstream industry does not offer anything substantial in music, you really have to look for it these days.

my thoughts exactly . it's just too upbeat for watchmen .

And that is the main reason. Putting aside all the other (subjective) reasons why MCR/covers in general/that song is/are bad, the main, undeniable reason this song doesn't work is that it's too upbeat. I'm not a very big fan of Dylan but I've listened to Desolation Row and while to me, it doesn't completely work with the ending of Watchmen, it *sure as hell* fits more than MCR's version.

You know I really don't care for My Chemical Romance on their own terms. They aren't like Soulja Boy where they straight-up make me ill, they're just not my thing. But an upbeat rockin'-out version of a Dylan song, especially Desolation Row is just wrong. It misses the point of the lyrics and the effect of the song. I'm sure Snyder is a competant enough director, but I can't see this doing anything but wrecking the tone of the moment. It's like using "Don't stop me now" by Queen to segue Tommy Lee Jones' monologue at the end of No Country for Old Men to the credits

watchmen certainly doesnt need any cringe worthy scenes....this would be horrible ...hope it doesnt happen
itd be as horrible a feeling as getting something at wendys through the drive thru...them messing up the order...you take the receipt to get your extra hamburger...come back out and someone stole your bag of food out of the car....sorry if thats random...but that happened recently...and i could compare those pains...MCR is so bad

So I guess they're playing a totally different show.
