yea i was wondering, well Wayne Manor was burned down in Batman Begins. So if this flick takes palce not to long after Begins did, then where is Bruce going to be living at? Construction workers and planners are gonna be all over rebulding his house, it could cause alot of problems. Bruce can't access the Bat cave the same way, hell the construction workers might find the elevator to the cave. How is Bruce goona do anything with so many people around his base of operations? Is he gonna relocate to a condo in the city, i think he did that for awhile in the comics.

Yes, but don't forget the time that passed from when the Manor burnt down to the ending scene. Gordon got a promotion, and Bruce did not even know about it. So who knows how much time that could have been.

Good point though, itll be interesting to see if they just forget about that continuity or not. They might, considering you were the first I've seen to bring that up.

well It going to take months maybe even a couple of years to rebuild the manor, fix the surroudning areas, and get furniture back in their. I Hope they dun forget it, i mean it was a major event in the first movie, you would think Nolan would not be that foolish.

Remember in the 70's when he lived in the penthouse of the skyscraper (Wayne Enterprises?) with the massive tree in the middle?

It'd be cool if they referenced this in the movie as Wayne Manor is being rebuilt.

^yes . . . that was suggested in the past, and this topic has indeed been touched on before

but, what about thye cave?

let your imagination run wild.

I think Bruce's manor will be near completions in "DK" along with a new Batcave. And they probably don't need to get into much detail since it's not needed

The cave is just a giant cave. As far as we know all Bruce has down there are some power tools and a work bench. Its not like there's bat insignias plastered all over it yet (hopefully there never will be). No one suspects that Batman has to own a giant cave beneath his mansion..... its just a feature of the Wayne Manor grounds... someone at some point obviously already knows about it. And plus Bruce is very savvy when it comes to throwing contractors and other workers off the trail with his foresight and pretty much unlimited budget he can pull it off.

he's going to rebuild it him self brick by brick, just the way it was lol
no, but with nearly endless resources and very deep pockets, you can easily have whole builds made in a matter or weeks, a mouth tops
anyway, I doubt the movie will be taking place right after the events of the first one, figure it will be set few mouth maybe, who knows. its a movie timeline, anything can happen
and ya, there isn't much to the batcave yet that he would have to hide it, or keep it to much of a secret, he just needs to move the cabinet with the suit in it first. of course he well probably will use out of state contractors, and use different people for each part, order equipment throw dummy corporation, and so on
It's all very technically, but, the important thing is that Wayne Manor is in good hands lol

i think the question is- while it's being rebuilt, where does he live? and more importantly, does he commute to the batcave to suit up and then come back to the city to fight crime? It's not like he's not fighting crime while waiting for construction to complete.

They don't have to show WM being built and they could show past a year show that Batman can't catch the Joker who's killing rich people like one in TMWL.

Again, in the comics, in the 70s, he had actually left Wayne Manor and the Batcave and lived in a penthouse in the Wayne Endustries building. I think he used an abandoned subway station or tunnel for a makeshift Batcave.

As for the topic, I would actually sorta like to see them go with the whole penthouse route. It's just something that's never been done before in films, it's new, it's fresh, plus is a nice little nod to the comics - and period in the comics which a lot of us, I think at least, have a great deal of respect for.

Totally agree.

I'm personally rooting for the Penthouse in the 2nd film myself.

I like that the bat train. At least he won't have wait half an hour for one.

That'd be awesome. It would even give Bruce the chance to act even more like a playboy and be in the heart of Gotham.

In the third film, he could finally go back to the finished Wayne Manor and the newly finished Batcave.

One point I'd like to make.

The construction workers are going to build the house to the specs that Bruce wants. There's no reason that the house couldn't be built in such a way that the cave stays hidden from the workers or that the house could be modified later to incorporate the cave without anybody knowing.

but again- if he has no house to live in, then he's traveling between whereever he's staying and the batcave and then back to the city to fight crime. that seems incredibly dorky.

Well, obviously, if Bruce was living in the city itself he'd obviously find some place to keep the tumbler and suit and what-not so that he wouldn't have to go to Wayne Manor every time.

As I said before, while not living in Wayne Manor, Batman used an abandoned subway station or tunnel for a makeshift Batcave. Which was located in the city. Probably right under the Wayne Enterprises building.

it would take at months to rebuild that thing, and thats with a massive team working every day.

batman wouldn't let a homicidal maniac like the joker roam free in his city for a week, let alone months.

so we can safely assume that the entire mansion won't be completed.

That's sorta funny considering Joker's been running around Gotham in the comics for years. :o

They could rebuild that **** in a week.

And apparently make it inspiring and unforgettable too!

Takes like two years tops to rebuild a home... it can be done...
