The Dark Knight Wayne Manor.....WTF?!

CConn said:
As I said before, while not living in Wayne Manor, Batman used an abandoned subway station or tunnel for a makeshift Batcave. Which was located in the city. Probably right under the Wayne Enterprises building.

That works. I realize it was in the comics but i prefer wayne manor/the batcave although i'm open to seeing this.

and hey i never thought about this until now- we see batman in the suit in the final shot but wayne manor is destroyed. where are he and alfred staying? Does he keep his suit in the back seat of the rolls?!?

Wayne bought the hotel.... and probably has many more places he can stay

Yes, but don't forget the time that passed from when the Manor burnt down to the ending scene. Gordon got a promotion, and Bruce did not even know about it. So who knows how much time that could have been.

Good point though, itll be interesting to see if they just forget about that continuity or not. They might, considering you were the first I've seen to bring that up.

perfect

Again, in the comics, in the 70s, he had actually left Wayne Manor and the Batcave and lived in a penthouse in the Wayne Endustries building. I think he used an abandoned subway station or tunnel for a makeshift Batcave.

As for the topic, I would actually sorta like to see them go with the whole penthouse route. It's just something that's never been done before in films, it's new, it's fresh, plus is a nice little nod to the comics - and period in the comics which a lot of us, I think at least, have a great deal of respect for.

Exactly.

Also, I think there was a condo for a while, too.

Bruce will get a two room suite at the Gotham Microtel Express. He will use the continental breakfast nook as the batcave.

That's sorta funny considering Joker's been running around Gotham in the comics for years. :o
um i dont think were going to see a movie where the joker has been around for years. did u understand what i was saying?

This thread poses a really good question.

I think Bruce could just put a mobile home on his lot to live in so he'd still have access to the cave and keep his eye on the workers so they don't discover his secret. He could even park the mobile home near the cave to reduce the risk that the workers would discover the cave.

I don't really see the situation has being that complicated.

Where did he live during NML? The make-shift caves?

I really don't think this matters, seeing as I think the Manor will have been remade (Maybe slightly different,) but it's nice to talk about anyway. I think the Cave will be more of a hybrid between the Begins one and Burton's Batman one, in the next movie - An actual cave, plus the super computer, turn table, things like that.

They'll either do the penthouse or set it after Wayne Manor has been rebuilt. I'm guessing they'll set it after Wayne Manore has been rebuilt. Unfortunately that means the joker has gone un-caught for a long-ass time.

The more I think about it, the more I realize they weren't really thinking about the sequel at all when they made this movie.

I think the Manor should've caught fire for dramatic effect, but it needed not to be completely destroyed. That might pose a continuity problem.

They got to have granfather clock entrance to Batcave!

They could use kryptonian technology to rebuild it in a week. Have Supes guest star in TDK and make the acid that scars harvey be an alien parasite that turns him evil

I wouldn't like this purely because i want to see him evolve the cave slightly. I want it to be his fortress, becuae it goes with his mythology more than a penthouse.

or maybe he could use the penthouse, and then at the end of the film we see that hge has been working on the cave and it's now completley badass

I friggen hope they don't set it after Wayne Manor's rebuilding without at LEAST an explanation to where bruce/alfred were staying for all those months/perhaps years, as joker is on the loose. the whole thing is frustrating once you think about it, i agree shade.

what about when ra's pushes him into the fully-charred support beam that has already given out and falls on Wayne. Always hated that part. Why would a beam be fully burned and have broken free when the rest of the place is just catching fire?

Would've been better to push Wayne backwards and then have a guard tip a statue over on him or something or just knock him out. Lame plot device as it stands.

"mind your surroundings" was a good motif. I liked it...wouldn't have worked with what you suggested

I thought it was a great scene to read it as a newspaper headline.

They wouldn't be scouting in Blackpool if they weren't going to show the Manor.

good motif: i agree. realism of a fully-charred beam collapsing while the rest of the room is just starting to heat up: stupid.

Well, didn't it come out that TDK would take place about a year or so AFTER Batman Begins?

If so.....then the Mansion could theoretically already have been rebuilt. Brick for brick, just the way it was.

Man.....I love the symoblism of the Mansion burning down. If it wasn't for the symbolsim, and what it stood for....I'd been really pissed about it burning down.

then it will be very interesting to see how they deal with the fact that Batman is no closer to catching the joker 1 year after he learned of his existence, or even that joker is still on the loose and batman cant' get him. that'd be good to work into batman's obsession
