Eh, just sounds like people are worrying to be worried right now. He knew his schedule and what he was getting into at the time, so did WB.

I wouldn't be saying this so much if Tarzan looked to be at a risk quality wise. Sure, it's probably been done before, but it's not something that should be done a whole lot and isn't ideal. But if you can make it work, then maybe I'm watching films from directors where I would never know otherwise.

Yeah, but being in two different modes on two different movies isn't good. Even if it's the same editor, the director is the one guiding it and needs the film's undivided attention.

It's not uncommon or a problem:

Alfred Hitchcock
Dial M for Murder and Rear Window (1954)

Ingmar Bergman
The Seventh Seal and Wild Strawberries (1957)
Winter Light and The Silence (1963)

Akira Kurosawa
Throne of Blood and The Lower Depths (1957)

Francis Ford Coppola
The Conversation and The Godfather Part II (1974)

Oliver Stone
The Doors and JFK (1991)

Steven Spielberg
Jurassic Park and Schindler’s List (1993)
Amistad and Jurassic Park II (1997)
Catch Me If You Can and Minority Report (2002)
Munich and War Of The Worlds (2005)
War Horse and TinTin (2011)

Steven Soderbergh
Erin Brockovich and Traffic (2000)

Mel Brooks
Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles (1974)

Chris miller and Phil Lord
Lego movie and 22 Jump Street (2014)

Clint Eastwood
Flags of our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima (2006)

David Cronenberg
The Dead Zone and Videodrome (1983)

And the list goes on.

Geez, I didn't think it happened that much. I was wrong about it not being ideal, since it seems to work, yet I don't think it works for everybody, but Tarzan and Fantastic Beasts are a little more fishy at the moment than those top filmmakers who were working in their prime at a different time in film history.

Yeah, I wouldn't put Yates on that level. Which probably means the problems that exist with either film would no matter the amount of time between.

When talking about sheer volume of work, we have to mention Rainer Werner Fassbinder, the absolute KING of INSANE output per year:

1969

Love is Colder Then Death, Katzemacher

1970

Gods of the Plague, Why Does Herr R Run Amok?, The American Soldier,
The Niklashausen Journey

1971

Rio das Mortes, Pioneers in Ingolstadt, Whity,
Beware of a Holy ****e

1972

The Merchant of Four Seasons, The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant,
Eight Hours Are Not A Day, Breman Freedom

1973

Jail Bait, World on a Wire

1974

Ali: Fear Eats the Soul, Martha, Effi Briest

1975

Like a Bird on a Wire, Fox and His Friends, Mother Kusters' Trip to Heaven,
Fear of Fear

1976

I Only Want You To Love Me, Satan's Brew, Chinese Roulette

1977

Women in New York, The Stationmaster's Wife

1978

Germany in Autumn, Despair, In a Year of 13 Moons

1979

The Marriage of Maria Braun, The Third Generation

1980

Berlin Alexanderplatz ( 14 part TV mini-series over 900 minutes!)

1981

Lili Marleen, Theater in Trance (Doc), Lola

1982

Veronika Voss, Querelle

Died in '82 at the age of 37. Drugs and alcohol + workload.

Will be at SDCC. http://www.businesswire.com/news/ho...arner-Bros.-Pictures-Brings-Heroes-Magic-Myth

On Saturday, July 23, beginning at 11:30 a.m., Warner Bros. will showcase several of its most-anticipated upcoming feature releases in its Hall H presentation, headed up by master of ceremonies Conan O’Brien:

Director David Yates with stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller and Colin Farrell from “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”

About “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is an all-new adventure returning us to the wizarding world created by J.K. Rowling. Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne stars in the central role of wizarding world magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates, who helmed the last four “Harry Potter” blockbusters. The film opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
Starring with Redmayne are Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, two-time Oscar nominee Samantha Morton, Oscar winner Jon Voight, Ron Perlman, Carmen Ejogo, Jenn Murray, Faith Wood-Blagrove and Colin Farrell. The film marks the screenwriting debut of J.K. Rowling, whose beloved Harry Potter books were adapted into the top-grossing film franchise of all time. Her script was inspired by the Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, written by her character Newt Scamander. The film reunites a number of people from the “Harry Potter” features, including producers David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram. Warner Bros. Pictures has slated “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” for worldwide release in 2D and 3D in select theatres and IMAX on November 18, 2016. www.fantasticbeasts.com

Special Test Screening of ‘Fantastic Beasts’ in Chicago

Earlier tonight, movie-goers in Chicago, Illinois were fortunate enough to experience the first test screening of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which was held at the Regal Cinemas City North Stadium 14 theater. Those in attendance had to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) prior to the film’s start, but a few non-spoiler snippets have surfaced regarding the “fantastic” film they saw.

The experience began over the weekend with subtle invitations to theater patrons to see a “new action-adventure movie” from Warner Bros. on Wednesday night. Many Harry Potter films had a similar screen testing in Chicago in prior years, so there was a good chance that it was going to be Fantastic Beasts. MuggleNet is certainly as excited as all of the fans are for any news relating to the films setting within the 1926 New York Wizarding World, and we are not disappointed with what we were told about the film!

What we can reveal from the screen test version is this:

This may be the funniest movie of all the Wizarding World films.

It is more adult-oriented and interesting to see how adult wizards exist and live in society.

The Wizarding World in the USA is much stricter and scarier than Britain’s Wizarding World.

The beasts will not disappoint, but they do not steal the show.

Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) and Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein) steal the movie with brilliant performances.

It was HIGHLY recommended that viewers know the Wizarding World laws and magical nuances before seeing this film. Muggles (sorry…”No-Maj’s”) will not get any explanations to the magical world.

Newt is fighting a good fight, which makes the fans appreciate the magical beasts.

Finally, our team was not disappointed and said the fans should look forward to a fantastic new film this fall.

I honestly have no idea if this will be good or not.

It honestly feels a little odd to see Jon Voight in a Harry Potter movie.

Conan asked Redmayne if there are Easter eggs in the film. Redmayne thinks he meant literal Easter eggs.

I would say this is my second favorite trailer released today. "We're going to recapture my creatures before they get hurt. They're currently in alien terrain surrounded by millions of the most vicious creatures on the planet - humans."

The whole "gotta capture creatures" plot just isnt making me think "Gotta see this NOW!". Bout the only things that are hooking me are Colin Farrell, Rowling's name, the wizarding world, and the hope that there is some bigger diabolical arc that will span the trilogy. Something on the scale of Voldemort and Harry's destiny. But Newt, his friends, and his creatures...I couldn't care less about that stuff.

Yep. It kind of feels like it isn't about anything particularly interesting right ow.

I am a little intrigued about Collin's character going after Newt.

Best trailer yet. I'm definitely more interested. I actually like this story. The trailer was fun and charming and hopefully the film is too.

I liked the creatures shown in the trailer. I wonder if the plot really is simple as they're making it sound or if there's more to it.

They're testing the waters for a live-action Pokemon movie. :p

While I was a big fan of the Potter novels when I was a kid, I couldn't tell you if I'm all that hype for this one.

That was a fantastic trailer. Pumped.

Redmayne is going to kill it.

It looks like Collin Farrell's character is chasing Newt. Maybe he is an auror that has to capture Newt after all the creatures were released.

Finally we saw Some of The Fantastic Beasts and I Love every Single one of them

No I think Farrell is a Scourer and is chasing Newt because he's trying to thwart his efforts to bring on another Inquisition.

Please note this is a theory and NOT a spoiler!

I really wonder how much of Rowling's new writing on Pottermore was perhaps written to accommodate this movie. I get creating the American wizarding mythology of course, but was her writing necessitated by what should be in the movie WB wanted to make or did she do it because she really wanted to tell it?

Does it matter? She wrote the script for Fantastic Beasts so its all her stuff.
