WB's 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' original script by J.K. Rowling - Part 2

POA became dead to me when they continued giving all of Ron's great lines to Hermione. That on top of Cuaron apparently never picking up a HP book, Steve Kloves' ***** screenplay, and truly dreadful performances by Dan and Emma, that one actually gets worse on re-watch. POA was such a good book too.

Yeah, I am going to completely disagree with you on this one. Especially about the performances of Dan and Emma. They are pretty great in it imo.

the Hufflepuffs are giving it legs :woot: they're not really watch-it-on-the-first-weekend like Gryffindors, Slytherins or Ravenclaws :awesome:

also its awesome, its got really really good re-watchability. also casual moviegoers are now just realizing they could know jack squat about Harry Potter and they would still enjoy Fantastic Beasts.

Finally saw this and I thought it was kinda okay. Not amazing but not bad either. I liked the new additions to the wizarding world mythology but I thought the movie itself was slightly dull. I think Yates' direction kinda brought it down for me.

just tried look up the release date for the DVD on this...

That is obviously an error. It should come out this year or before the sequel comes out.

The blu-ray/dvd/digitalhd release date is March 28.

Don't bother checking retailers. If you want to know a release date just check blu-ray.com. DVD and blu-ray come out the same day 99.999% of the time.

:hehe:

I am probably gonna wait until the trilogy box set comes out, until then probably will depend on Netflix or some digital service. Can't wait for the next film.

is this still earning money or has it's BO run wrapped?

It's run at the BO is over. The final number is:
$810,552,571

More than good numbers.

I must say I enjoyed Fantastic Beasts more than I expected. I think trailers ruined it without giving me some proper sense of storyline or anything happening in the movie as i didnt expect much from the movie in the way it would create expectations. I enjoyed all characters, and I found myself enjoying watching Newt as main character and Kowalski as side character.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is the first movie in the Harry Potter franchise to snag an Oscar. Yay !!!!!!!

The costumes by Collen Atwood was indeed very lovely. I'm glad it won. :) :)

im very pleased that a Harry Potter movie finally won something. they just had to wait for an HP story to be set in America huh? :P

however i think Stuart Craig and team got ROBBED of the Production Design. :cmad: i saw Lalaland too and im like wtf???

I wish it was Jared Harris, but I still like the pick.

I'm going to be honst, I didn't really like the film. I thought the deigns were great, I loved seeing the American Wizarding community, but overall I thought it dragged quite a bit and ended up being hard to sit though. And I have set through some long films before. Still will check out sequels, but I don't see me going back to this one like the Potter films.

I like Jude Law but I don't know if I see him as Dumbledore.

I liked but didn't love it on first viewing but am going to watch it again.

Same here, although I think I'd find it hard to imagine most young actors playing a young Dumbledore. Hope he brings his A-game as this is something I really want to see done well.

I didn't know about them switching Ron's and Hermione's lines. Maybe Ron would have come across better with those. But otherwise I love PoA, it's my favourite HP film. I'm not sure what was wrong with Dan and Emma's performances but will keep an eye out next time I watch.
