Just saw Jolie on Daily Show... I am think the way WB seems to be swinging for the fences casting wise, I wouldn't be surprised if she's on the short list for Hippolyta once we get some casting news.

I wonder if Jolie would upstage Gadot?

I don't necessarily mean in talent/charisma, because I don't know what Gadot is capable of yet. Instead, I'm thinking that yep, Gadot is one of the most beautiful women in the world...but Jolie might just be the most gorgeous on the planet.

^Very true and they do have a familial look even if Gal has more of an olive skinned look. I've always been a proponent of Angie as Hippolyta anyway though.

No, because Gal is definitely the most gorgeous on the planet, and even the pic below your post proves it. Jolie doesn't have anywhere near the warmth, charm and radiance that Gal exudes in her face and smile which we've seen in so many gifs, videos and pictures. There's something more aloof about Jolie. Those beestung lips don't help either.

I honestly don't see much resemblance there at all, but I still wouldn't mind seeing Jolie as Hippolyta.

I saw a good general similarity that I am sure could be accentuated by make up, when she was on Stewart. She's still youthful looking, but also her demeanor is one where you would buy her as being MUCH older than Gal (if they don't go with the WW is already thousands of years old thing) though still and immortal beauty. She'd be the Hopkins to Gal's Hemmsworth. I will say... She'll have to do a better accent than the one she employed in ALEXANDER.

I liked her accent in Maleficent. I also think Jolie and Gal have a similar if not exact look.

I imagine Jolie along with Cate Blanchett are the top choices for Hippolyta. Given that Jor-El in both Superman and Man of Steel was cast by a name actor, I can't see Maclaren or Warner Bros opting for anything less than A List for Hippolyta.

Compare the Gadot pic with one of Jennifer Connelly or Zeta-Jones!

I feel like going with a more "exotic" looking actress fits better given who they cast as Diana. So between the two, Zeta-Jones would be better imo.

You think Zeta-Jones has a more exotic look then Jennifer Connelly?

JC - Fair skin and green eyes
CZJ Darker skin and brown eyes

Yeah, CZJ looks more exotic.

I want an Amazon gift voucher. I shop a lot on Amazon. Several gift vouchers would probably get me Diana, Artemis and many other of the warrior women.

Exotic is whatever is different to you. Do you think Asians find other Asians exotic?

People don't understand that "exotic" is subjective. Like "alien" is for example.

I believe it is clear to everyone that by "exotic" it refers to impression from a viewpoint of a caucasian person, considering that Diana (and by that logic other Amazons too) should seem that way to caucasians in USA (as that's where Wonder Woman ends up after leaving Themyscira), so there's really no reason to nitpick about this.

And by that logic I agree with Rodrigo. Catherine Zeta-Jones does seem more exotic in that kind of environment where society is prevailingly formed of those ethnic groups that are caucasian, as Welsh people typically have dark hair and olive skin, similarly to Gadot.

Yep. Although nowadays there's thankfully tons of Americans who look like Gal (by 2050, the majority of Americans will be dark-haired, dark-eyed with darker skin). That's why I think Snyder was smart casting someone with an accent. That will seal WW's foreign status in America and pretty much everywhere else except Israel.

Really? That's interesting if true... I suppose you're referring to the fact that gene that's behind the blond hair and fair skin is recessive, right?

And I also like the fact that she has rather thick accent. It's fitting.
