But with that, there's the recognition of the Elf's being Otherworldly. Pace was caked up in makeup and prosthetics, sure he didn't look all that old, but you can buy him being Legolas' father.

For Rosamund to not go through that similar transition and not be a creature like an Elf, where the fantasy of the character shadows everything else, it makes it all the more harder to swallow.

there are no small parts, only small actors.

Mine as well. CM or a more important DC character than Wonder Woman's mom.

I respectfully disagree... It isn't the same case IMO It is the execution of the role.

Russel Crowe as Superman's dad was relevant and if they make Hippolyta a nice and relevant role I can see it.

However I can see her as Catwoman (see what I did there ), Hawkgirl, Hera, Cheetah, etc...

Anyway, as much as I like and appreciate Blanchett as actress, I really don't want to see her playing a queen in a period/fantasy movie yet again.

There's plenty of other women who'd fit the role nicely, without it being such a painfully obvious choice.
