Comics We Are The X-men

Gambit and Elektra are up. Maybe this means Remy will be taking up a bigger role in the X-verse again.

Yesterday I was thinking that it'd be either Elektra or Black Cat. Weird. :woot:

Gambit and Psylocke, hopefully, getting more exposure is cool.

ok i JUST became interested in this event.

yea, suddenly very intriguing.. hope they both make the team.

And I wonder what the is a connection between Blade and our newly Vampiric old friend...?

Okay, I've been wishing Jubes back for years but really . . . a vampire?

Am I the only one violently against this?

No. Seriously, this is the dumbest thing in years as they continue to **** on anyone who was in Generation X that wasn't Emma Frost or M.

Am I the only one who thinks this is gonna be interesting? The X-Men are all about co-existence, so working with non-muants makes sense to me.

Vampire Jubilee is cool, too, imo.

I like all the characters so far. Except Spider-Man. I don't know why they would put him in this.

I, actually, want some of them to stick around. Blade and Lyra were born with their powers, so they could be considered mutants.

Elektra and Nate are just ****in' awesome.

:woot:

Yeah. Gambit should just forget about Rogue and go for Elektra.

Who wouldn't, right?

no. im very pissed off about this weird Vampire Jubilee thing.

This is all sorts of awesome! :D Of course this begs the question -- is this going to be an AU event like that Campus book where the Xs are all teens?

So Marvel tryin' to getting girls into comics since there are vampires nao!!!

It depends what the story is. Good vamp? What are vampires' powers in Marvel-verse, anyway?

If she sparkles, I'm out of here.

Pretty sure they're standard Vamp-fare. I haven't seen much Marvel vamp stories so I'm assuming that.

If she sparkles, I'm out of here.

Does glossy art count as sparkling? :oldrazz:

I'm hoping the story is good but on the other hand I'm kinda just happy that Gambit and Jubes are just being used again.

Yeah. Both of them have been in my top 10 favorite X-Men forever . . . and often have been included in my top 5.

Still. I'm going into the whole Jubula thing with major reservations.

"Standard" vamp fare? Okay. Superstrength, bloodsucking. Do they die in sunlight? I take it the stake works, and I remember an issue where Wolverine tries to use a cross and it was mentioned that it only works for true believers, so crosses work sometimes. Does garlic?

If this is true, it's one of the stupidest things Joe Q has come up with:

UPDATE/CLARIFICATION: Nothing below is meant to suggest that XMEN: LEGACY is ending. The teasers implied to me that there wold be a new X-MEN title, which is what I was going on. Mr. Anonymous has just reached out to me to clarify Carey's book and his run on it are not being ended. Also, I may have been too cute in saying "when you're the ArchAngel". Some are thinking this is editorially mandated; no, it is from David Gabriel (get it? archangel?).

You know what rarely works out well? When the business-minded folks at the company force their "creative ideas" on their employees.

That's what is happening at Marvel.

When you're the Archangel at Marvel, there aren't a lot of people who can say no to you. When you decide that vampires are soooooooooooooooooooo "in", you can tell your people you have an idea that they just need to do and, well, who is going to tell the boss it sucks?

I speak of X-MEN. The adjective-free X-MEN book. The main focus of that book? Everyone's favorite mutants versus vampires. That's why there is blood dripping on the teasers. That's why you've seen Blade in one.

No one wants to be the one to edit it. The only creative team that would touch it is Victor Gischler and Paco Medina.

The next teaser? I'll have Nate Grey and Jubilee in it. Now, I don't know about Nate, but Ms. Lee?

Total bloodsucker.

That's right...Jubilee is being made into a vampire. The vocal minority that has lamented Marvel's handling (or lack of handling) of the character has GOTTA love that.

Oh...and all of the above? Brought to you by Mr. Anonymous. He, also, posted the first group shot of the Secret Avengers up on 4chan today. He wanted to be able to post it anonymously and thought I was still in my "I don't know that I want to catch **** from Marvel" phase. Lately? In the words of Mr. Mathers: I just don't give a ****.

Now, word is that Marvel has completely rescinded advance review PDFs due to the Secret Avengers image getting out. As far as I know, Mr. Anonymous didn't get his stuff from PDFs dispersed to comic book "news" and review sites. So, their decision to **** on the people that more or less give them free advertisement? Not going to have an effect on keeping this **** locked down.

Mind you: if Marvel didn't insist on giving reviewers PDF copies that contain all of the ads that will run in the print version of the book, their wouldn't be spoilery house ads for them to worry about. Of course, the lineup was leaked long before this house ad, but don't expect facts and logic to get in the way of the Mighty Marvel Spiteful Brigade.

And of course, the one that they make into a vamp had the power to create "sparkles".

I still think that this could be interesting. I just want them to replace Spider-Man with Angel.

I know it's not traditional X-Men, but Psylocke, Gambit and Jubilee are 3 of my favourites. I also like Blade, Elektra and Nate and I believe that they'll fit in with the X-Men.

I wonder who's gonna be the leader. Magneto, probably.

It would be kewl if Blade showed up with that vampire gal he liked from Excalibur, Jaquiline. :)

I'm wary of this, because the whole vampire thing was done so well, so recently in Captain Britain.
