World Web shooter shop class - Part 3

Theoretically speaking, the proposition of swinging from hi-rises is simply stupid and very risky. But aside from that, I believe the idea of swinging say... from lamp post to lamp post is more viable. That's because it's low and from side-to-side. I've been keeping an eye on this thread for a while and am very impressed. I'm looking to make a shooter/fluid of myself. I have an extensive love of chemistry and physics and have access to my high school lab and some family members who have a background in the field (hehe). Forgot to mention I'm 18 years old so if that matters. The whole swinging thing would be pretty cool, I remember 8 years ago I used to swing from ropes in an old park in my city, was a pretty adrenaline-boosting experience. Besides that, I do have an ongoing internship at a local lab that specializes in the research and technology themes presented in this forum/thread which is pretty darn cool!
Anyway, help the newbie out? I have a budget of around $3,200 (trust me, wasn't easy to make that) for supplies, materials, and the compounds needed to make the shooter and fluid. Hopefully whatever I buy will be good enough for an extended period of development out at my garage. Welp, would love to stay for a bit longer but I have work but I'll be back on later fellas.
Guidance is much appreciated!

Kind Regards,
ZmanProject

Edit: Wouldn't swinging be like swinging from rope to rope? Correct me if I'm wrong

Hi again guys! Sorry for the excessive posting, I was reading realwebtech something can't remember the full URL but it said something along the lines of:
- Don't swing... (save that for nano-cellulose ;))
Where can I get my heads on some of that, it's probably not marketed because most people don't have any use for it. Is it something that can be made/extracted in a lab, I mentioned before I do have the lab access during the year with permission and my ongoing internship but not sure if that'll be any use.
If someone can point me in the right direction that'd be awesome!

Thanks :)

Real Web Tech is a site made by people from this forum if you didn't know. Anybody bought the crystals yet, they see viable.

Just did some quick research when I arrived home last night, seems like it's not commercialized yet but commercializations is not too far off, in regards to nanocellulose which means we could possibly see people buying it in the near future.

There is no point trying to swing right now. We can't even support 15 pounds at this point. Swinging is impossible in the first place, dont get your hopes up for it. We did the math, it WILL tear your limbs off. And thats if your strong enough to hold on (which is ALSO impossible. Human hands can't have that kind of grip.) Web zipping, quick boost of momentum during parkour? maybe. Thats about it. As for those nanocellulose bottles for sale, I can almost gaurentee that it's not going to work. They are way to cheap, and for a site thats selling a very important business venture, it looks pretty fake. There If you want to buy it, go ahead. I'm not risking my money in that. I think that since most of the people who are excited about this stuff don't even have a shooter yet, maybe we should take it a bit slow. Nanocellulose definately has many uses, but mostly just to companies that plan to use the stuff to make things to sell. If you really do have an internship in a lab, maybe you could proform the hydrolysis proceedure on your own. Might not though if you don't have enough experience, since it uses dangerously corrosive acids. BTW, a friend of mine named GTT found this site, which looks a lot more legit:

I apologize if this is meant for me. I know I suggested braving the site and buying it. But I was wrong. I'm starting construction on MK IV now. I just don't want to do a full step by step post.

Celluforce seems like a good platform for all the information on this nano cellulose, and yep even if possible swinging is extremely dangerous. Using the formula as an aid to parkour sounds much more reasonable (and more exciting to be honest) and is a safer alternative. I'll continue researching nanocellulose seems quite interesting. And definitely, I agree we should take this step at a time, I look forward to contributing to this amazing feat! :)

Here's a breakdown of the trigger. This is the part that fits on the wrist inside the watch.
valve_web_shooter_by_shadowface1337-d7nt8gz.jpg

As you see, the washer and spring keep the small pipe (which has the internal end sealed off) from entering the chamber.
valve_web_shooter_2_by_shadowface1337-d7nt8wz.jpg

The holes in the small brass pipe are external until pressed in, when the lever is let go, the trigger spings back to the outside.

The trigger is small enough to fit under a sleeve without being obvious unless scrutinized. Perfect for Peter Parker to hide his secret gizmo.

Most likely won't be able to do the hydrolysis procedure by myself due to my inexperience with such components and chemicals and it being only an internship. Doesn't hurt to ask the professor who I am studying under though, nothing beats a failure but a try eh?

Hey man no need to apologize, that was meant in a general manner, not directed at anyone.

Hey fellas, looking to start on this soon. Graduated! Lots of free times on my hands now and ready to rock this awesome project. I have a pretty high budget for the parts just let me what I need and i'd love to do some work on this.

As always best regards,

Hey man! I've just graduated this year as well. One place to start looking about the web shooter is here: realwebtech.webs.com. That's where we've logged a bunch of basic information about the shooter.

Wow...I graduated a few weeks ago as well.

Congrats to you both! It was surreal for me but I made it through high school and survived.

Hey guys I've made something that could contribute to the web fluid. It's a rubber-type substance. It can't stick to anything, but it's grip is amazing and it's very, very, tough. I made it from liquid latex and elmers school glue. It's amazing but takes awhile to dry. It took about 3 days or a week to dry. I cant remember. but someone should try it as well

Sounds promising, what is it's tensile strength and the stick part can be solved by mixing it with an adhesive of some sort. Could you please post it and I'd be willing to take a stab at replicating it.

I think i remember someone doing something about liquid latex a few years back, but I don't quite remember what we decided on it. If anyone is feeling adventurous they can go look around the old posts.

I just posted this comment on this fake guy's video. Here it is incase he deletes it:

Hello Goofy. I'm a good friend of Wadaltmon (probably best friend), aka spiderdevice. I've watched this happen for long enough, and I'm done being quiet. For those people who believe in goofy, and say he has inspired them, please don't be sad after reading this. Stay inspired. I'll tell the story from the begining. Before replying to this comment, please read the whole thing.

So about 5 years ago, a guy on the killermovieforums posted his own homemade webshooter, which was primitive and bulky, but still really cool.
http://www.killermovies.com/forums/f47/t347614.html

A guy who really liked it, called white widow, wanted to make one too, and made a forum about it on superherohype. He's gone now, but the forum is still used to this day with aspiring engineers trying their best. It's branched out into several forums now. Here's the one that started it all:
http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=343420

The closest someone has gotten is Wadaltmon. He has a channel called spiderdevice. I'll link it here:
https://www.youtube.com/user/SpiderDevice

So if you browse through his channel a bit, you'll see he's been working on this thing for a while. We all have. A little over one year ago, he was commented on by goofy. It was the first time we had ever heard of him. We were happy about this and became friends with him. Goofy then built his own shooter. It was pretty good for a first try. We were just happy more people were building their own, and that we inspired him. Then things got a little bit weird when on almost every video, goofy kept posting "my shooter is better, come to my channel." Still, spiderdevice and goofy worked it out and he stopped. They were still friends. He was even on one of goofy's live streams.

Then this thing happened. Let me be brief. The webshooter in his video is fake. Ask any person who is into engineering and science. If you don't know anything about it, it sure looks real, but every single person on our forum knew it wasn't real. The parts and explanation don't make sense, and neither do the formula. The video was low quality on purpose. The sound effects were extremely cartoonish, and obviously digitally added. A lot of us were mad and wanted to attack goofy. I wanted to make sure we didn't start a war, so I calmed everyone down and told them to just wait. I said, "hey, let's contact goofy privately and talk with him maturely about it. So spider device did. Goofy was pretty mad, and started lashing out at us, claiming we were just jelous. He insulted my friend, even though we tried to be nice. Still, I told every one to calm down and just watch what happens.

Then this contest thing happened. This was the last straw. Goofy didn't pick anyone to win the contest. Nobody won. If you look on the contest video, you can keep pressing the show more button to see all of the comments. I did this, and then also opened every single reply comment in every comment chain. Then I used the windows keyboard command Ctrl-f to search for sneekyX ninjax. He's not there at all. I made sure. You can check too. I'm not lying. This is terrible. He inspired all of his viewers, raised their hopes, and then based it all on a lie. That's what pushed me over the edge, and made me stop being quiet.

To me science is very important. It's about sharing the truth. This is just wrong to me. My own personal theory on why goofy did this is because he originally did try to make a shooter, but in the end gave up and faked it because it was too hard.

Now you can make up some excuse to tell me to shut up, like how I'm just jelous, I'm a hater, or I misspelled a word in this comment so that makes me stupid. But goofy, if your reading this, be honest. Would Peter Parker be proud of you right now? Would Uncle Ben be proud of you? Because right now your acting like Quinten Beck. With great power comes great responsibility. Through this channel, you have the ability to share information, inspire people, change their opinions. Are you using that power responsibly right now? Do the right thing Goofy. Please. Just tell the truth.

Thank you for anyone who read this whole comment.

Elxiah, I have to say, I'm really proud of you for that. You can see how my couple of comments on his videos (Josh Stevenz) have gotten ridiculous amounts of hate, so it's nice to see others trying to fight this as well. It's highly ridiculous. I can't seem to find your comment, so I assume its been deleted already.

A little progress on the shooter I'm working on, I have several of the main trigger components really to be put together, so I assembled them on the wrist fabric to show what it will look like.

The spring and trigger-lever need to be attached, which will be difficult, and the hole the pip runs through needs to have the rubber ring around it to prevent leaking. The shooter will be attached to the pump concealed in a backpack, which is something I'm debating on (size mostly, small or large?) but I would say It will be completed in probably somewhere around two weeks to a month.

Thanks for the support. And to be honest, I don't care whether or not your shooter works, that **** looks so dope. I am literally in love with it.
