World Web shooter shop class

No need. The schrader valve is a more specific form of a one way valve. You could, but it's much easier to leave the one that's there. I suppose you could, but the bond isn't as strong as the threaded bond with teflon tape.

Nice! I will try to do the smallest mechanical web shooter prop that I can operate with a hand gesture. Wish me luck! I might not be on for a while.

Just got Mangaverse Spider-Man comic! Pretty awesome! I might go with that after all! Wish me luck on making that stuff also!

Good Luck! I hope the best for your work. As for the mangaverse, what are you going with? Are you tring to make grappling hooks or costume?

I am going to do the Mangaverse costume, and grappling hooks. I am gonna try to do a variation based on the comic. I will do wood circles with wood, (or exacto knife) spikes, (not sure which would be more affective) and fishing wire "string" that will connect to another end which I can hook into a harness. Tell me, would it be better to use wood? The one in the comics look like razor blades, so I want it to be functional, but look like a razor blade. Real razor blades would not work as well, right?

If you want options, I know leon s, kennedy has a gappling belt on his utility belt in RE4. That may be a good option.

Alright, this is an M rated game so only watch the part of it that I tell you, if you decide to watch it at all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Gp84d3rSYc&feature=related

What happened was that man was trying to rescue that girl. The midget who looked like benjamin Franklin on a bad day was the boss man. He's the stereotypical boss with no power of his own. He decided let's spring a trap. Luckily leon had his grappling hook.

That is the only scene with him using it other than the time he just threw the hook at a guy as he ran for cover.

I appreciate that! That gives quite a bit of details. I like the spinnerette.

When I saw the spinneret, am I the only one who screamed, "modified aerosol spray tip?". Looks good btw.

I gotta say that pic looks great, but I wish I knew what ya'll were talking about. I'm only 16. lol. I'm really interested in this though.

Don't say your only 16, and I think White Widow posted a summary of what we're doing on one of these pages.

I don't have a HUGE problem (most of the time I avoid them, except for alien killing games) with M rated games, but I'll take your word for it. I haven't watched it yet, I'll post afterward.

To JMA610: I thought it legitamatly looked like a modified watch piece. I'm still curious to see how it spins.

To Webhead Paul and Spidey 44: It's all good fellas. I think that with all that's happened, and due to the fact that we have over 40 forum pages dedicated to Web shooters*, I think that we might need to put all the cards on the table.

*(which must be some pinnacle of nerdom. I'm pretty sure there isn't a forum dedicated to lightsabers that is that long.)

So, should we kick things into gear gentlemen?

Clutch. Shifting. No, wait, my car's an automatic. Anyways, are there any specific parts on the shooter that you need further research on, or can you just make it after some welding classes (which you could research on the internet, if you are in a hurry.)

There's no rush. If there is something that needs doing, it had best be done right. I took my first welding class. I talked to my instructor and he seemed satisfied that it was possible, though I didn't mention web shooters persay. I asked him about the most difficult part of the weld in my opinion and he said that it should be easy. I should be able to make a basic valve soon, or at least within a few months. It's all about design and being able to complete another project first. So all in all it shouldn't be too difficult. Here is my plan for the shooter:

Buy a threaded CO2 tank and find an adapter for a 1/4" coupler. This leads up to a 200 psi nylon tube. At the end of the tube, there will be a coupler that connects the nylon tubing to the shooter's valve. All in all, the hardest part of this project should be the spinnerette. After all that is complete, I will just need to get a hand pump to pressurize the container, and then I'll be free to work on the fluid. It won't be the most graceful shooter, but for me, I'd rather have more fluid than could be held by a tiny bracelet. Any questions?

So, I got a quick question for you ultimate spider and Web head paul. I ask this question now and then just to see what the reaction is. Why do you want to make web shooters?

If it was simply to live out a childhood dream of being like a superhero, there is a guild devoted to "real life superheroes". They practice Parkour and citizen's arrest. Because of that, I assume it's not that simple. Maybe it is though. I'm not going to judge.

So why do you guys want or need them?

Well, impossible as it may sound, I just looked up how to make these, found this, and I would like to make them because I have a hankering for responsibility with this "power". I know that sounds extremely cliche and pun-ish considering what this forum is for, but... the only way I can explain it is that I feel I have the chance, the ability, the... (Grr) power to help, and I feel like even though people don't give me a second look because of how young I am, I can do it. I see the things in this forum, and I understand it, I know how to get it, I just need to know how to make it. See, I view myself as one of the people who knows they are smart enough, and old enough, and just enough to take the responsibility, and I know someone has to carry it. So it might as well be me. And I already knew about the "guild" but I'm not really the kind of guy who would fit in to that. And knowing people in general, you're probably going to say something like "We don't know if it's strong enough" or "We need people who know exactly what they're doing" or something like that, and I take no offense and hope you don't either. So to answer your question, I want to help people who need to be helped. I want to stop people who think they can do anything to hurt someone and get away with it. And last but not least... (if it's as strong as in comics) I'd like an easier way to school. Well, you successfully got me to give you a monologue, so... congrats. Probably more than you needed to know but whatever. At least I hope I answered your question.

And back to the shooters, I was looking around, and I thought that this was a lot like a gas powered airsoft gun. So I found this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8vXJkI4fjc
It might be a much smaller and less powerful thing, but it might help with the design to show what the shooter might do in theory, or you could modify it to do what "we" need. And a good thing about it is you don't have to carry a giant tank around everywhere. Then again, you are probably way ahead of me at the moment.

... Alrighty then! I'm not sure how to respond to that, but you've got drive and spunk, which I deeply respect. You question a good deal of what I say, and that's what I need to make a better prototype. For me, I'm making a device to help the police. As for the firemen, it would be a great help as well.

Now for the green gas. I like it, but cartridges are pretty unlikely. The only reason is that we need an expansive factor of 7000X. With a surfactant, the odds are pointing to 1000X if that (and depending on the nozzles of our shooter). So we need to either create bigger cartridges, or small 20 0z tanks. Personally, I would like to use cartridges, but the tanks are more realistic. I would also mention that swinging is not likely either.

You know what though, I'm really curious to what you have to say. My email is [email protected] . Send me an email and I'll see if I can answer your questions more in depth.

Well, I don't have any questions, I just don't know how far ahead of me you and the other guys are. Right now I'm a little past the point of theorizing the possibility of making and modifying a simple gas gun for the shooter (as you already know and apparently have passed.) I think I'm a few pages back on this forum, in other words. Which is why I was asking the questions about any problems and summaries. Oh, and by the way, the video was just to show that we can study a co2 airsoft gun to see how to make a "cartridge" or tank or whatever and not have to carry the entire gas tank around with us.
