what are cable's powers/abilities nowadays??

i read cable and enjoy it..but i'm lost as to his powers...i thought he was psychic and telekitetic..but doesn't seem to have anything now...

He lost his Telekinetic and psychic powers quite a long time ago I think.

His psychic powers were at there peak during the start of the Cable and Deadpool series. I don't wanna spoil it but he lost his psychic powers after a fight with the Silver Surfer and Wade had to basically lobotomize him. But then he replaced his psychic powers electronically. It's a long and complicated story!

he doesnt even have the technological analogue for his powers anymore since his island was destroyed. Basically he doesnt have any powers anymore for all practical purposes. They're burned out.

He's an extremely skilled soldier and survivor with a robot arm that can exert roughly 10 tons or so.

On very rare occassions he still breaks out some token weak telekinesis but only when his back is up against the wall so to speak and it seems to take everything he's got.

Is Cable ever going back to his own time? Technically, Cyclops is his dad and......eh. It's just to confusing.

He has no reason to ever go back to his own time. The whole reason he came back to the (616) present was to prevent his version of the future from ever happening. He did that.

He usually does. Cable going back and forth between powerless and "the most powerful mind on earth" nigh-omnipotent happens about as often as Jean Grey goes back and forth between dead and not.

pretty much yeah. They just constantly hint that he'll get his powers back when he loses them, and then constantly put him situations where he could potentially burn his powers out when he has them.

They should just stick with the techno-organic virus limiting him to mid-level TP and TK. That way, it's there to use but guns are just as effective and they keep him away from those absurdly high-level feats that force him to burn himself out when he's at full power. Win/win.

Yeah, I think it's a benign techno-organic symbiote, but who cares? Just say it had an attack of bastarditis and started trying to eat his whole body like the old one.

I remember when him and Silver Surfer had a fight all across the Pacific. They were blowing things up and then Cable was reconstructing them. And then we find out that Cable was the one keeping Providence afloat the whole time. That's just silly power.

I'm cool with like, that plus they let him do the occasional hella-crafty telepathy move cause he's superfuture telepath from the future, who knows SEKRETS! And like the very, very occasional 'tardsy-powerful telepa-whoopasery with the condition that it gives him the mother of all migraines for like a week afterwards. Like if the Silver Surfer or Thanos or some such badass shows up Cable can jack them really hard, one time, and then he's out for the rest of the party.

Personally, I just want him to have the fine-tuned telekinesis back. I could do without telepathy, even. I just like seeing him pull s*** apart telekinetically and put it back together again. That's a fun visual to me. You see, I'm a simple man...

You also must remember his ability to carry a gun the size of his torso even in his non-techno-organic arm.

-There was that time Forge killed the X-Men to cast a spell and Roma brought them back. Maddie was in that group.
-Then there was that time she killed herself and X-Man brought her back years later.
-Then she got killed off-panel, and now she's back in the pages of Uncanny X-Men.


I'd say she's getting close.

You haven't read the first storyarc or two of Cable & Deadpool, have you? The second he got control of his powers, he became Mr. Psychic Powerhouse.
