Underrated Creative Powers / Characters

The problem with Hank, I think, is because after he hit Jan he became loathed and unpopular. It may have been an intentional effort on Marvel's part to keep him in the background as a result. But yeah, Hank is totally under utilized.

That's ******ed, though. He hit her once while having a nervous breakdown 30 years ago, yet he's still loathed for that? Please. A few select writers may loathe him for that and have chosen to single that out as his defining characteristic, but that's their fault, not readers'. He seemed to work just fine in Avengers West Coast and during Busiek's era on the Avengers without drudging up that one incident all the time. Spider-Man hit Mary Jane once, too; does that mean he's utterly worthless as a character? The double-standard annoys the hell out of me.

Don't kill the messenger. I have no problem with Hank. Like you said, it's the writers and not the readers. But Hank has been portrayed as an @$$hole for a long time. But it's the good things he's done that go un-noticed.

Cardiac I always dug Cardiac, I wish someone would use him he has the potential of being a real badarse.

I think he should be a straight up villian also, screw the anti-hero business we need a good black supervillian.

Ew?

Its a good design, Hank Pym is a good character so Yellow Jacket rules!

Yeah, while she was 9 months pregnant. :csad:

Agreed.

It's a terrible design and the Yellowjacket persona (which viewed itself as separate from Hank for a while) is the one who hit Jan. :o

Damn Cap'n Stacy you know who Cardiac is!

I'm not alone.

I know who Cardiac is. I think everyone who read comics in the '90s knows who Cardiac is. He had a cool design.

We'll agree to disagree.

Now my question is who would be a good canidate for Yellow Jacket?

What, you mean to replace Hank in that identity? Peter Parker, the other Marvel wifebeater.

Yeah he was a 90s gem, too bad he's been forgotten.

Think Prowler could also be utilized in a new way, he's a gadgeteer and a really untapped character someone should give him a go.

He should be Peter's tech guy, since Peter's too busy balancing life and crimefighting to work on his tech himself.

Oh, wait, Peter doesn't have any tech anymore. Damn you, organics. :(

LOL!

Ahh...*sigh*

I guess I mean a unused character who could fill the role, maybe someone like Phil Ulrich or Hobie Brown or hell Rick Jones.

Nah, f--k that! I'm tired of the black guy being the sidekick/best buddy deal.

I'm talking Hobie being his own man, he could easily be a Blue Beetle/Booster Gold type hero.

Yeah, he could. Ooh, team him up with Rocket Racer! ****ing gold, dude.

Phil Urich's starring in The Loners right now. Hobie would be kind of an odd fit. I can't really think of anyone who'd make a really outstanding Yellowjacket.

Whatever happened to that other, female YJ? Rita DeMarr or something, I think her name was.
