One advantage might be low expectations from the regular employees...depending on how you look at it. People will be more likely to just leave you alone, and not constantly harass you over important projects, deadlines, etc. Low stress, less hassle. It can be a good thing if you're a slacker, or a temp with plans to eventually move on to bigger and better things.

A disadvantage might be that because people have low expectations of you, they might not treat you with respect, or they might be more likely to blame you for something that goes wrong in order to cover their own ass.

Big disadvantage would be being the lowest on the totem pole. When things slow down or if there are any layoffs you may be first to get the axe. (Been there)
