What Are The Blind Spots Of Your Own Fanboy/Fangirl Resume?

I got into Potter during late middle school and into high school. My Dad read the first 4 books shortly after I did, and that was the only geeky thing we could discuss at length together because he didn't and still doesn't quite get my obsession with superheroes, Star Wars, or wrestling.

Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, Harry Potter, any and all things Anime, Game of Thrones, I could keep going.
Superheroes are really my only thing.

I do cruises and they do trivia on it. Movies, music, tv, books, etc.

I remember doing a Harry Potter one and I did poorly on it just due to my superficial viewing of movies only and the fact that it has SO many different characters.

However, on one particular cruise they showed you pictures of movie superhero characters and I walloped everyone. It wasn't even close. I remember a kid and his dad playing and "I remember thinking, you're not winning." :o

Harry Potter - the books came out when I was out of high school so obviously they never appealed to me and I've never seen any of the live action films.
The Walking Dead - I'm a comic book collector fan but zombies have never been my thing.
Game Of Thrones - don't get the fandom over junk like dragons and fairies.
Doctor Who - seriously I don't know how this show catched on in the U.S. for what time is basically a glorified PBS show.
Star Trek- I like a few of the movies but the series is too talky and not enough action for me.

I've never been able to get into the original Star Trek series. TNG and above is what I like.

FTFY

Doctor Who is another series I've tried to get into as well. I've watched episodes with the Matt guy that played the doctor, the Kilgrave guy, and Capaldi. Not my cup o' tea.

Never seen a James Bond movie, never watched Game of Thrones, never played a Metroid game.

Lord of the Rings for me. I tried to watch the movies at a time when my attention span was at its lowest and never bothered with them or the Hobbit ones again. Never even touched the books I think.

Harry Potter, Star Trek, anime, Pokemon, and Transformers.

Family Guy
Ren 'n Stimpy
OnePiece
Bleach
Attack on Titan
Duneons and Dragons
MMORPGS

A few others I forgot to mention:

Power Rangers
Adventure Time
SpongeBob Square Pants
Stargate (tv series)
Farscape

I actually would suggest watching FARSCAPE Duke. I think you'd dig it. The early goings of season one are rough but man... Once Scorpius makes his debut the show is taken to another level and it's excellent in my opinion and they end it really well with the PEACEKEEPER WARS film.

So... What are you into, cuz that list covers like 75% of the Hype's coverage.

Depends on my mood...

I used to watch transformers...Ghostbusters. ..power Rangers...

But as you grow older your tastes in stuff change...

So ... ask what my favorite characters are from all 3 I listed in my previous post. ..and you shall receive

Cool. Which are your faves, Oh Dark One? :cwink:

Forgot to add the biggest nerd franchise which is Lord Of The Rings, sorry I don't care how long it's been around for 100 years or so I don't know how people could sit through these movies.

I am a bit immune to the LOTR series myself. Not that I actively dislike it or anything. The appeal is just lost on me for some reason.

That said... We've got some kickass Led Zep fan vids out of it. :sly:

Okay. I will choose 3 as my limitations in two categories: Heroes vs Villains

Star Wars

Heroes - Han Solo, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Rey
Villains- Darth Vader, Kylo Ren and Boba Fett

Marvel

Heroes - Captain America, Black Widow and Jean Grey
Villains - Thanos, Magneto and Enchantress

DC

Heroes - Batman, Wonder Woman and Robin
Villains - Two-face, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn

There are more I wish I could add but yeah...that's the jest of it for the most part...

I guess it's a semi blind spot, I've read the first Dune and I never really had a interest in the sequels. But I do own a signed copy of God Emperor of Dune that I found at a used bookstore.

Super cool tacit. I read Dune a LONG time ago. I enjoyed it, and I actually enjoy the Lynch film despite it's weaknesses and just off putting strangeness. I always tell myself I am going to re-read the Dune books but I never get around to it. I feel I would appreciate it more that I am older.

The MCU: I can acknowledge that they've had great success financially and somehow critically as well, but the movies just don't do much for me. They just seem so...vanilla or something. When DC disappoints me, I wish I could appreciate the MCU more and turn to them for comfort, but no...

I do like the DD netflix show though.

Modern Star Wars: I am a huge fan of the original 3, but was very disappointed in the reboot that followed. After that, I sort of lost interest entirely and couldn't muster any excitement for the latest film. Even though I've heard it was good, I haven't seen it yet. I will eventually, but I'm in no rush.

I think TFA has it's definite charms and is far more in the wheelehouse of the OT. Did you see the Rogue One trailer yet?
