I grew up in Japan, so my experience has been with Japanese manga/anime rather than American comics. The world of comics always seemed too intricate and vast to dabble in, so I stayed away. All I knew were Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and the Hulk, and most of those from old movies or TV shows that my dad had liked. Then I very recently watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier for the first time and got bitten by the bug, you could say! Since then, I have watched the rest of the MCU through Civil War and am trying to find what other good films/TV shows/comic series I've missed from Marvel and DC. I have no idea where or what to start reading and watching, or if I am missing any great smaller brands besides those two big names, so I am hoping to find good recommendations. I'm also going to enjoy just having a place to discuss my favorite stories and characters.

I found out about this site from my dad's friend from his job. From 2003 to 2005, I kept looking at news occasionally. Then I decided to join the forums in 2005 to mainly talk about anime. I stayed around the Anime forum for a while before branching out to the Misc Films Forum. Then I expanded from there and really got heavy into posting during the Coming Soon migration. Those were fun times.

In the last few years, my daily posting has gone down considerably. I post mostly in some threads in the Misc Films, the wrestling thread in the Misc TV forums, and the NFL thread in the Sports forum.

A friend of mine recommended this site to me. I lurked for a while and then there were some interesting discussions on the Spidey boards about Spiderman 2 which had already been released so I finally joined up. By that time other films like Batman, FF, and Superman Returns as well as Xmen 3 were about to come out It was a glorious time to be a comic book fan. Stuck around ever since.

Stumbled on this site pretty much by accident, found some guys who were fun to talk to, hung around for them and the old caption threads. Mostly a lurker these days, I still enjoy the atmosphere.

Honestly because I can actually discuss anime, cartoons and weird movies here without people judging me and looking at me a certain way. And also most of the users here are sound and quite funny sometimes. I get a good laugh when I'm feeling down. It's a great place in here. I love it.
