So let's hope that at least 2 of the several DC properties lined up actually is going to see the light of day by 2010. What should DC take note of from Marvel's movies.

Spidey-2 hours is the perfect comic movie time
X-men- good supporting actors can give great substance to a film.
FF- comedy shouldn't go to the realm of sitcom.
DD, GR, and Blade- second and third tier heroes need star power in the lead to make a 100 million dollars.
Hulk-comic panels don't look good on screen.:woot:

DC just can't get it together. I will be shocked if the get Shazam right. I can't believe they aren't working on GL.

Don't let Tim Story direct any of your upcoming films.

Don't rush out films just to get the character out there and leave the story dangling.

DC would do well to pick up a few things from the Marvel properties in terms of marketing. With the exception of FF2, I think pretty much all of their films were handled beautifully in terms of advertising and creating buzz. The trailers, commercials, etc for the Spidey movies, the last two X-films, Hulk, FF ans whatever else really pushed action or created a larger than life feel IMO. I'm hoping to see that translate into TDKs push and also the properties that lie beyond.

have someone from the comics department weigh in on the script/ production.

its ironic how Marvel and its partner studio has better communications than the singular entity of WB/ DC.

WB is a large soulless conglomerate that sees $$$$$$$$$ not people

The problem with DC right now is they're only pushing for Vertigo films. We need more focus on their mainstream superhero material. Don't get me wrong, Constantine, V for Vendetta and A History of Violence were excellent, and I'm sure Watchmen and Y: The Last Man will follow suit, but they have to understand that the longer they wait, the less opportunity they'll have to cash in on this comic flick craze. The moviegoing public has caught the superfever, and they need to exploit.

Nolan is doing a good job. he is putting out batmovies at a good pace. the rest of the slate though is frustratingly slow
we should have seen
GL movie
a Wonder Woman movie
and a Flash movie
at least get started by now
and where the F is Singer? is he to busy bashing baby seals on the head to make superman again?

Only thing to learn from Marvel is not to make ****ty movies, well they have learned that already with the exception of Catwoman of course

Need I remind you of a little story of pain, debouchery and nipples known as batman and robin?

"Don't take forever making stories trying to win an Oscar just to seem "better" than Marvel. Just avoid making things like Catwoman and doing things like cancelling Goyer's Flash/ the Wonder Woman script that really do make you look worse than Marvel."

That would be what I would say.

Well if WB is listening here what I have to say: GIVE WHAT PEOPLE WANT! Don t try to do movies that nobody asked, dont try to change cloth or colour dont try to touch anything anything, stay true to the comics.

And for those who said not to rush??? WTF??? since 1978 since the first superman until 2007!!! The only real DCcomics movie WAS Batman and Superman. HURRY THE f*** UP! WB! and if you can t LEAVE DC ALONE!!!

can DC really learn anything though? i mean i'm sure they have great ideas but Marvel is independent from a giant conglomerate, whereas DC is a plot farm for WB

WB gets the final say right, not DC?

Its funny as Marvel has yet to put out any in house movies, Marvel had very little to do with production and the script of their superhero movies, the movie studio hires the writers and mandantes what should be done. Iron-man is comeing out in 08, which is their in house movie.

But to be fair, Marvel's doing exactly that and falling ass-backwards in the money .

Yeah, but all the films bar 4 (X1, X2, SM1, SM2) have sucked. With the rest, none of them will be remembered in 20 years time. Quality not quantity :yay:

Marvel only recieves a very small percentage of the the money, that the movies about their characters make. hence why they decided to start makeing in House movies themselves.

I wasn´t referring to the older movies by DC since those are in the past and I think they already learned from Batman & Robin with how BB was done

Im glad to see everyone works for Marvel and knows how they operate :whatever:. Its common sense why they would want to start making in House movies and thats to keep their characters from being owned by other companies like Sony for example.

For the record before X-Men there was Blade, need we forget. Honestly even though I enjoyed all Marvel movies the worst by far were: Punisher, Hulk, DareDevil theatrical version, and Elektra the rest were pretty damn good with some flaws here and there.

Now DC pisses me off if I wasen't a comic book fan I would think the only heroes they had were Batman & Superman. Let's do the history there have been 5 Superman movies and 7 Batman movies. Im all for bats and supes, but I kno they could have dropped a Green Lantern movie, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Aquaman (copy of Namor prototype), Flash and the list can go on.

DC dropped some wtf were they thinking movies too, remember Batman & Robin, Steel (<< does that count??), Catwoman, Superman III (Richard Pryor couldn't save that one).

But from a business perspective, who really cares? They're making money and increasing their brand awareness. In fact, these movies basically saved Marvel from bankruptcy.

You just proved my point. Since the properties are making so much money, they want to cash in even more.

1. Stick with your guns... have faith in the characters... the fact that they aren't eyeing WW for 2010 is a joke... that slot is still opened... please give us Flash or GL or WW in that spot...

2. LET NOLAN FINISH HIS TRILOGY BEFORE YOU ASK BALE TO DO ENSEMBLES...

3. Make a MOS the best movie you can possibly make... if you cut that for a JLA well WB you are just delusional mother ****ers...

4. Flash and GL and a WF or JLA origin movie all by 2012/2013/14

5. THen.... JLA 2014/2015... not hard... establish the characters and the universe first before making nonsense films... but they are still gunning for a JLA before even kick starting everyone else... take a page from Marvel... line your solos up... then do a cross over... not exactly rocket science
