If you could choose what DCEU film would you love the Russos to direct?

Post your suggestion.

My Choice would surprisingly be Green Lantern.
I liked how they handled Infinity war is why.

I dont want them on Superman as they have the ''Hes too powerful'' mentality

Good question.

I agree that they’d struggle with the more physically powerful characters like Superman or Wonder Woman, so a good chunk of the League is out.

Maybe...Flash? He has the potential to be just as “overpowered” as Superman if you push the limits of super speed to its logical (and in the cases of many comic books, illogical) conclusions, but I think there’s enough leeway there to both do the character justice and make them interested in making the movie in the first place.

Of characters we already knew are on the 'cards' - Green Lantern

Of those that possibly could happen - Martian Manhunter

Of those that would be a dream project - The Spectre

I don't get people who want the Russos to direct a Superman movie or a Justice League movie. They said that they find DC heroes unrelatable (except Batman), because they are too powerful (especially Superman).

:funny:

They do realise Thor, Captain Marvel, Hulk, Thanos, Dr Strange & Scarlet Witch to name but a few were in MCU movies they've directed right?

Yes, but, at least for me, those were their weakest entries into the MCU. While nothing they have produced has been unenjoyable, their strongest work for me has been Captain America: The Winter Solider.

Maybe they just know where they are strongest.

Which director(s) have handled the most characters? Russos.

I will say they'd need a well oiled machine. Like Markus and McFeely writing and Young doing fight choreography, a great producer and a supportive Studio, it does take a good team.

We are still sitting here wondering when's the next Superman & Justice League movies, and right now their resumes and yes they worked off the backs of a very successful franchise, but they are the highest grossing CBM directors to date, who've handled large scale stories.

Justice League or Green Lantern Corps

Then de-power Superman and go for something more akin to Fleischer's take on the character. Superman can still be the strongest being in the universe without having ludicrous, unfathomable power levels. It almost borders on parody sometimes.

This may sound sacrilegious to diehard Superman fans, but I like the idea that Superman could be killed by a barrage of ballistic missiles. I like the idea that he can't go from one side of the planet to the other in a matter of seconds. I like the idea that when he tosses tanks or giant robots around, you can feel the weight of it and you get the sense that he is physically endeavoring to do it - instead of it requiring zero effort all the time.

My ideal Superman would basically be a Hercules that can fly. A movie like that would interest the hell out of me.

Thank you, John Byrne.

I would love for them to tackle Batman.

BTW, this thread is so far respectable. There was a similar topic done on the DCEU subreddit and the brothers were dismissed as defective hacks who can't string two shots together.

Not gonna lie, I'd be down for a live-action movie with a Golden Age/Fleischer-power-level Superman.

I grew up watching STAS, so I’ve nothing against a Superman that isn’t ridiculously powerful, but I don’t think I’d bring him down quite that much. My ideal Superman would be strong enough to move mountains (not easily, mind you; that would be the absolute limit of his strength) and durable enough to survive everything short of a nuclear blast.

Always enjoyed the Superman who showed up in things like the end of Justice League Unlimited, the one who told Darkseid he has a different kind of problem than his counterparts. Or the one portrayed in What's So Funny About Truth, Justice & the American Way?

I think the Russo's own work with the likes of Thanos, Hulk, Thor, Dr.Strange, & Scarlet Witch prove, you can have incredibly powerful characters & still make them work perfectly fine. I actually wanted an even more powerful Hulk, than the versions I've seen.

For the most part, I didn't have a problem with Snyder's Superman's power levels in the DCEU, while he's obviously still powerful, he is shown to have his strength & vulnerability limits.

My ideal Superman power levels wouldn't quite be a Hercules that can fly, I want him to be powerful enough that if he became a problem it would take a real collaborative effort to stop him without Kryptonite.

I'm fine with superman's power levels. I think how he uses his powers is more the issue than the actual powers themselves (besides the random new powers that they magically just have Superman use once and then never mention again).

Superman's comic rogues are made of villains that can either physically harm him or exploit his emotional/moral/ethical stance.
