What do people assume about you from your accent/dialect?

People assume I'm American because I mask my accent but I dont even have a green card. I grew up in England and when I talked to my friends back there I talk in that accent and when i talk to folks here it's different.

I don't know if its fake of me to do that but I am already different being Asian but having a Brit accent and Azn just makes me feel like I stick out.

...

not cool indeed :(...over here in N.Y, we just have muggins, rappings, robberies, etc...

the usual :(

but i love it here! born and raised...I'LL NEVER LEAVE!

Well sometimes people when they first meet me they say if I am from American or grew up there for a while, but nope I just have a weird accent lol.
But then again I think it's as I talk right.

You gotta love my midwestern-non-regional dialect...

That's the reason so many actors and newscasters come from the midwest, there is no discernable accent

though if you like I can do an accent. I'm good with Scottish, Bostonian, Southern, Austrian, English (more welsh), Russian, and I do a mean Christpher Walken :D

it's a great way to entertain/meet women :D

Because THAT'S not a stupid statement.

ok, so it was a BIT stupid, but hey there ARE regional differences. My buddy Ian from Liverpool would always goad on me because I assumed there was just Scottish and English accents in the UK...don't blame me If I still don't quite get the nuances...:csad: :oldrazz: :o

That's not what I was saying.

That I'm a stupid moron from the south, who doesn't know anything.

I'll let it slide.

If I went anywhere in this country people would know exactly where I come from because of my distinct accent... but if I was the go elsewhere people would know I was Irish but that would be about it
