Just wondering what everyone thinks of the Line up, how there sort of mix and matching from differnt Avenger incarnations Personally I would have liked to have seen a Classic Avengers Movie with Thor, IronMan, AntMan/GiantMan, Wasp and The Hulk but obviously Ant-Man and the Wasp arnt really that well known in so much that theres no movies about them but whatever.

I do like the Lineup they have, no complaints there, Im kind of worried but once I heard Joss Whedon was directing im actually kind of relieved and ive got hopes that its gonna be a good movie.

The Ant-Man movie is going to be made by Adgar Wright, the director of Hott Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead and Scott Pilgrim.
I hope Ant-man is ready before avengers 2

Really? I never saw scott pilgrim but i Loved hot fuzz, i didnt know they were doing an Ant-man movie thats awesome.

The heroes lineup is fine, its the villains lineup or lack there of that's worrying me.

All I keep hearing about is the cast is getting along fine, so and so had a scene with so and so and it was great, the Helicarrier looks great and is huge. Ok? Not to sound unappreciative, but I want to hear some effen news about who they're going to be facing already.

Don't get too excited. Wright is attached to the movie since when? 2007? It could take another decade or so before we actually see Ant-Man on the big screen
Or it comes out in 2014, which would be cool.

And besides...isn't Wright's film not really in the same timeline as the entire MCU?

He sort of said that, but that was his 2nd draft, and since hank won't be in avengers its believed that his 3rd draft has it being part of it

The line-up is fine. I think MARVEL studios is trying to reduce the potential 'cheese' factor that might be percieved by the GA wrt Wasp & Ant-man.

As a fan i would have loved to see them but I'm happy with Black Widow and Hawkeye.

The important thing to me is that the protrayal of the replacement characters in the line-up is SPECTACULAR.

Black Widow was AWESOME kicking @$$ in IM2 and we need to see more of that in this movie.

Hawkeye needs to make Legolas from LOTR look like an amateur!

It's ok but it needs to be less of a sausage fest. People really aren't as scared of powerful women as Marvel might think.

Which of the male characters should have not been there?

I'm all for Ms Marvel or Wasp being in an Avengers flick but Cap, Thor, and Stark ARE the Avengers. Hawkeye is far and away the fan favorite and one of the most long-standing Avengers. And Hulk is intrinsically tied into the team's origin.

Well the movie has Black Widow, Maria Hill & potentially Sharon Carter, if Sharon IS in it the film isn't that much of a sausage fest.

I wish they had included the Pyms myself. The line-up feel incomplete without them. Plus, I think it would've been a safer move to introduce Ant Man/Giant Man here and then give him his spin-off if he proved to be popular with the general audience.

don't forget whedon is directing, he knows how to make women more badass. when he came aboard i knew it was only a matter of time before he added some more females.

I agree with you, but I immagine the producers were worried about the film being overcrowded. One of the problems the X-men movies had were there were so many characters that it was hard to have enough material for everyone involved.

I'm diggin' the roster. Hell, just seeing Cap & Thor fighting side by side on the big screen will pretty much blow my mind, specially since I like Evans & Hemsworth in the roles so much. I'm also thrilled to see Jeremy Renner in the mix. Love that guy. What I'm hoping is that for the next Avenger film they'll give us a slightly different roster rather than just increase the existing one. I'd like to see Tony & Banner take a break from the MCU and have them bring in Black Panther & The Pyms to compensate (Giant-Man can make-up for the absent Hulk). Its possible to give 6 heroes a decent amount of well-distributed screen time, but not 10.

There's no reason to chuck out a male character to fit in a female one but if you bent my arm I would have saved Hawkeye for a sequel.

None of which have superpowers. It would have been nice to have at least one superheroine there. Someone who could really stand as equals with Earth's mightiest heroes.

She would have to have had a movie beforehand to explain her powers though. The reason Clint and Natasha don't need one is because they're SHIELD agents, and SHIELD has been established in all 5 movies.

Not neccessarily. I mean if the main threat are the Kree/Skrulls than add Photon or Ms Marvel. Bang you're done!

That could even start paving the way for cosmic Marvel which I think is meant to be the next frontier post Avengers in terms of Marvel's strategy.

I'd definitely have preferred Hank and Jan, but the lineup we've got is still pretty beastly.
