I've posted a lot of my criticisms about Daredevil Born Again in the general thread, but I'm gonna summarize it here.
The new directors were given a lot of credit for making the show basically become season 4 of the Netflix show, but I feel like we are giving them too much credit. There's much more that they could have done.
-Cherry took over from where Brett Mahoney left off. Replace all of Cherry's scenes with Brett, especially in the beginning, and the OG fan base will actually feel some impact of his presence.
-Kirsten's role was something Marci could have done. It should have been Marci at the bar that Foggy was flirting with. It should have been Marci grieving over Foggy's dead body. It should have been Marci as Matt's new law firm; the name Nelson & Murdock could have been retained.
-Nadeem basically died for nothing. This next criticism is a stretch of fan service, but if Yusuf Khan could have just mentioned how he had a cousin who married a man named Rahul and had a son named Sami who Matt & the late Foggy helped saved the lives of, that would have gone a long way.
-In the same episode with Yusuf, all we get is a mention of sister Maggie. That's it.
I know that all of the scenes with Vanessa were reshot in addition to the new episodes that were tacked on; I feel like they should have done even more reshoots to bring back the characters I mentioned above. Just to add more connection to the Netflix show.
after all the arguments over whether the Netflix show is canon or not (even though it was canon ever since it first came out), the best we got is
what we got for Born Again season 1 and it just isn't satisfactory for a hardcore fan like me. I realize more reshoots would have meant more delays; by all means, delay it for another month or two. I don't think the characters I mentioned had
that much screen time anyway.
Posted before, but I'm posting again.
I'm so worn out of the MCU humour.
yep. and it's especially bad when they sacrifice storytelling's integrity just for the audience to laugh. Guardians 3 is held in high regard, but all the **** they were pulling with Drax made me so annoyed. I didn't think that **** was funny, I thought it was ****ing stupid. Drax went from being my favorite Guardian in his first movie to just hating him by his third.
I skipped the second season of What If? and I don't think I've missed anything. It really feels inessential.
I didn't like season 1 of What if either or the entire concept of it if I'm being totally honest.
Why is Antonia Dreykov played by Olga Kurylenko in Black Widow when the character is supposed to be 20 at most in 2016? Antonia was a little girl when Natasha defected to SHIELD, so it’s crazy she’s now older than her in the present-day of that film.
you know what, I thought this same exact thing way back when Black Widow first came out, and that's all it was for me; was a thought. I never saw any comments or criticisms behind it, you're the first I've ever seen to mention it and I agree with you too.
