what he hell is up with music these days?

Also Lord Valumart aren't you from the UK. You should probabley know by now that the british charts are crap. When songs from Mr Blobby, Westlife, Crazy Frog, Bob The Builder and any other novellty junk can get to number 1 its pretty obvious charts are a load of Horse S***

How can you put westlife in with those. they aren'y great but at least they can sing

I think Rhianna has a decent voice, but she has a few songs that are crappy. Shut Up and Drive is a pretty nice cut if you ever hear it.

i love umberella but that shut up and drive song is awful! I like her 'a girl like me' CD. Its really fun music.

Crimes against music this generation are horrid-

massacre!

:csad:

The band i really love at the moment are paramore

For those who say it's generational, it's not the point. I'm 16, I'm of this generation, and I can't stand anything being put out today, at least anything mainstream. And yet my parents like it.

Yeah, thats the other thing. You'll have newspapers and tv show presenters that will say stuff like "both fathers and their sons can listen to Snow Patrol".

But they suck. Anyone I know that likes stuff outside of this decade thinks they suck.

I think what it is, the media is far more in control than even the 90s. And anytime a band that might have some talent would come along, the record company that handles them thinks "we know what people want" and suck all the good out of them by grooming them to be the next big thing.

:(.

Well what do you like then?

Maybe it is just impossible to please your ears.

Yay, good to know there's other fans out there. He's been my favorite artist since I was a todler. I recently got back into him after going through a long classic rock phase, and I fell right back in. I'm in a crooner phase right now, though I still rock out as well.

I love Frank's type of music. And he did it better than Michael Buble in my opinion.

Hell yeah! I love Frank!

Awesome.

I assumed I would be the only person on this board who listend to Frank Sinatra. Nice to know I am surrounded by such awesome folks!

Frank's been in my life since I was a kid, as I said. I love his music because it talks about life and romance and his phrasing techniques and vocal range were second to none. When he sang, you could relate to how he felt.

Buble's good, but he's a wannabe. I do give him credit for keeping The Great American Songbook alive, though.

Didn't Buble do that awesome rendition of the Spider-Man theme song?

Dude! ANTHONYNASTI! I just noticed your location! So, you like Bobby Darin too? ****e, we should make a crooner's thread.

Anyone listen to Blue Grass at all?

Nickel Creek is a great band.

The closest I get to blue grass is the Dixie Chicks, and I am not even sure that they are blue grass.

We should. I love Bobby as much almost as much as Frank. I love Dean, Sammy, Tony Bennett, etc.

Well, of course Frank did it better. Buble is amazing, with the vocal prowess of Bennet and the charisma of Darin, but...Frank was the original.;)

Oh, and by the way, nobody has really lived until, late one night, when you're feeling lonely, pining over a girl, and you listen to Sinatra's In The Wee Small Hours. A beautiful piece of art.

It's on my Christmas list. I have all the boxed sets and live recordings. Frank's best songs for me are the ones no one's heard.
